He's too outspoken for those suits at soccer house, plus GGG prolly wouldn't be able to handle Ale having his own opinion, and also not being shy about voicing it.....that said, he's not shy when it comes to calling teammates out, while also shouldering the responsibility for being a leader (he raises his hand and says it starts with him, etc.).
IMO, he was frozen out because he didn’t go along with the MLS led insurrection and specifically called out arena, Wambach and Donovan for their awful remarks. That was the kiss of death. didn’t help that he was also great friends with Dempsey who wanted nothing to do with the coup d’etat.
Way ahead of you. Already conducted a preliminary recon. Security is pretty tight but strictly minimum wage. I’m thinking 2.5 pounds of Semtex at the breach point... or I can use the free tickets I was able to acquire. Thoughts?
At the very least, he plays Bradley out of the picture. I always respected his hissy fit at Couva. Plays for the crest.
My first thought is that Semtex might blow the un- out of un-obtrusive. Let's save it until we really need it, though I do like the idea of the brain-trust running for cover, shouting "We bailed out of Qatar for this?"
You know they do have tv games? Have you heard of ESPN+? You should try it, it would answer some of your smart ass questions.
He does, too. He's been pretty consistent that he doesn't think he woul have given Alvin Jones the space that Nagbe did. It's one of the things I really appreciate about him. He's not a dick about it, but he's willing to answer things honestly and directly. With players sometimes it seems like it can be just be the same factionalism that plagues fans when talking about the game. There's never been that problem with Bedoya. He's an equal-opportunity critic. I also appreciate him standing up for his teammates when some people made xenophobic comments about Americans who were born overseas playing for the US. Hard to say about a player that has 66 caps, but I think he was severely underused in his US career. But there's been lots of weird decisions since he became a part of the team.
Yup, and I have it. Also, watching games on TV is great, however it doesn't give you the entire picture as the cameras too often focus only on who has the ball and not the entire field where you can see player positioning and movement.
Yep, there is no substitute for watching live to get a feel for a player. Can make you change your mind about a player in either direction.
There is no question Bedoya speaks his mind and what he says is pretty much true. I just question his ability to play at the level that made him a fan favorite because of his outstanding hustle and tenacity defending.
This is a great point and a reason I put more in reports of players from fans who watch regularly live than fans who watch occasionally on TV. The camera doesn't cover what every player is doing ie runs and coverage and it isn't usually able to show long pass / switch opportunities and whether a player recognized and took advantage or had his head down and missed it. Of course we can't come close to seeing everything live so it's great when our army has someone there to interpret for us.
Has there been any news out of this camp? Incredibly quiet. We don't even know if Josh Wolff is there, or if a new assistant coach has been hired.
-Brian McBride joined up witth the team in Florida -Last week all of their gear arrived after the big switch of locations -Servania joined the squad -Social media has posted training, drills and activities -They have an open practice on FRI
Pomykal was still in recovery mode from groin surgery, so a full role for him in this camp wasn’t in the cards. He should still have a big part to play with the Olympic qualifying group https://t.co/g9GndH6l2s— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) January 16, 2020
Damn. Was hoping he'd be healthy and we'd get to see him on the field. Nonetheless, he's clearly in Berhalter's plans so that's good.
Absolutely. If there is one thing I respect about El Burro, it is his work-ethic. Classic nose the grindstone player. You will get an honest days' work from the man every time he puts on the shirt.
He was also close to the last off the field and the only one to stay and sign graphs. Great guy. Atrocious touch.
