I'm a little surprised that Zidane is back but he likely has made a huge power move when he walked away (likely because he was unhappy with some stuff Perez was doing) and now probably got everything he wanted when they are desperate. James almost certainly won't be going back now (which I think is good for him).

Bayern are hitting their best form right now and Liverpool are in the worst form of their season over the last 1-2 months with their offense sputtering some and Salah not playing out of his mind. It's not a coincidence that Bayern is playing well with James and Thiago playing together consistently, the two of them together form one of the best midfield's in the world and Bayern will only accomplish anything this season if those two are healthy and running the show.

    Neuer looking like Higuita there.
And not in a good way.

He worked hard and did ok but Bayern didn't impress me today. That's not James' fault though.

The English commentators are saying he was poor in both legs.

I just think Liverpool is the better team right now and forced Bayen to play their style of game.

Just a bad matchup for Bayern and James. Their weakness is Liverpool's strength. Also why if he had any choice in the matter, James should never go to the EPL.

Do you mean the guys on Fox?
Cause if so they hate him for some reason especially that jag off Alexi Lalas.

Nah, I was talking about the English commentators from England.
FOX does not have the rights. TNT does now. and they just have the British feed not Americans doing the game.

I was watching a Russian stream. I have no idea what they were talking about.

James barely received the ball and when he did there wasn't much he could do. Liverpool controlled the game completely. Possession was pretty even I guess but Liverpool was more effective. James did miss a couple of passes but nothing serious. I trust the Russians more than the English or Argentinian commentators.

Liverpool really controlled the game today, Bayern had a chance to steal a win in the first leg but they couldn't do it and Neur really put them in a bad spot with that mistake. James wasn't really able to effect the game and in general Liverpool's pressing gave Bayern fits. I think this Bayern team is in a weird place, a lot of the old guard are aging and going downhill, Neur and Lewy the biggest drop off with Hummels and Boateng as well and Robben and Ribery basically done. They are bringing in young guys to try and rejuvenate but I think especially with this coach they are not going to be able to compete in the champions league in the next couple years. They will still be good enough to win in the Bundesliga but unfortunately I think last season might have been their last real chance and they blew it, now that window is closing fast.

James is going to start again today.

The interesting thing is it will probably be a different tactical formation without Javi.
Some are saying he will play behind Lewa in a more attacking role.

That is a ton of starts for him. I really thought he would start on the bench today.

Same. Especially after his lackluster match against Liverpool. He better respond with some more gols and assists in these last few weeks because I don't know if the brass are fully convinced they should sign him yet.
