Not when I look at the number of penalties he’s missed over the years which proves that, yes, even he’s human.
Otherwise you’re also saying Pep was clueless since Barca didn’t win every trophy available under his watch.

He was for not having a backup plan to manage parked busses.

Yeah. Should've been fired quickly, I mean got only 1p from his two first Liga matches, and after round 7, we were on the 4th position.

If Pep had a Plan B he would have won the EPL and the World Cup !!!

and the Helmund Cup! (perhaps would have come short against Portugal in Euros though).

Joking aside.. has anyone noticed that several long balls from the back line has resulted in goals against both LPB and Rayo? All this building up from the back with 40 passes..

That’s just a glitch in the Matrix.

But yeah , if they are going to leave an avenue for Alba to run into let’s do it. But after 2 obvious goals like that, one of which was high profile, I ser teams being more careful .

On another note , there is a guy in mid that couldn’t be bothered to track Suarez run. Pretty inexcusable at the beginning of the game. Sometimes the defending in La Liga is pretty awful .

Don't forget the long ball from Lenglet that left Ramos clueless with Craperto.

So you’re saying long balls directly to their defenders is plan B ? :ROFLMAO:

I think we might be missing the point. The main advantage of the short passing game is that it is the best method of defense. The other team isn’t going to score much when they don’t have the ball.

If we want to talk about the Madrid game, what about all that short passing football in the first half when Madrid didn’t even muster half a chance for 45 minutes?

Defenders under pressure make mistakes as we saw very clearly, look at our own defence which has made numerous mistakes on long balls. I know Messi is short but a deflection from Suarez or a striker could easily open up. Not saying playing long balls 24/7 but it wouldn't kill you once in a while.

Exactly, that's the philosophy but still one can compile a very loooong movie showing other teams have scored from the 1-2 chances they gotten while Barca has had 80% possession so that philosophy isn't 100%and is it? I still think it's naive relying on that for all eternity.

Pep did win the Helmond! Twice!
The first time was in 2009...

    29/09/09: UCL-M2 ............................. FC Barcelona 2-0 Dynamo Kiev

But they only defended it three times. In fact, it was rather shocking when they lost it...

    03/10/09: Primera División J6 .......... FC Barcelona 1-0 Almería
    17/10/09: Primera División J7 .......... Valencia 0-0 FC Barcelona
    20/10/09: UCL-M3 ............................. FC Barcelona 1-2 Rubin Kazan

But when Pep brought the Helmond back a year later he defended it for, what I believe, is the record number of Helmond defenses.

    20/10/10: UCL-M3 .............................. FC Barcelona 2-0 FC Kopenhagen
23/10/10: Primera División J8 ........... Real Zaragoza 0-2 FC Barcelona
26/10/10: Copa del Rey 4R1 .............. AD Ceuta 0-2 FC Barcelona
    30/10/10: Primera División J9 ........... FC Barcelona 5-0 Sevilla
    02/11/10: UCL-M4 .............................. FC Kopenhagen 1-1 FC Barcelona
    07/11/10: Primera División J10 ........ Getafe 1-3 FC Barcelona
10/11/10: Copa del Rey 4R2 .............. FC Barcelona 5-1 AD Ceuta
    13/11/10: Primera División J11 ......... FC Barcelona 3-1 Villarreal
    20/11/10: Primera División J12 ......... Almería 0-8 FC Barcelona
    24/11/10: UCL-M5 .............................. Panathinaikos 0-3 FC Barcelona
29/11/10: Primera División J13 ......... FC Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid
    04/12/10: Primera División J14 ......... Osasuna 0-3 FC Barcelona
    07/12/10: UCL-M6 .............................. FC Barcelona 2-0 Rubin Kazan
12/12/10: Primera División J15 ......... FC Barcelona 5-0 Real Sociedad
    18/12/10: Primera División J16 ......... Espanyol 1-5 FC Barcelona
21/12/10: Copa del Rey 5R1 .............. FC Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao
    02/01/11: Primera División J17 ......... FC Barcelona 2-1 Levante
05/01/11: Copa del Rey 5R2 .............. Athletic Bilbao 1-1 FC Barcelona
    08/01/11: Primera División J18 ......... Deportivo 0-4 FC Barcelona
12/01/11: Copa del Rey Qf1 ............... FC Barcelona 5-0 Betis
    16/01/11: Primera División J19 ......... FC Barcelona 4-1 Málaga
19/01/11: Copa del Rey Qf2 ............... Betis 3-1 FC Barcelona

    So yeah, Pep sucked.
