A few years ago, President Mattarella came to Mass at our Church as it is celebrated in Italian. I wonder if he heads back soon or will be around this weekend.
He addressed us at the end of Mass and then came into our hall, Casa Italiana to greet people. It was nice to see a politician of that stature just be one of us. Since we are near Capitol Hill, we have had Laura Ingraham and Kelly Anne Conway attend Mass. I missed both of them but Laura posted a picture of our altar during her segment. She came to Mass on Memorial Day and did a segment about what the day is about. She said how she stared off with Mass with her kids and since we had all of the service flags in front of the altar, that was shown on TV. We also had Justices Scalia and Alito attend when we had Mass in memory of Giovanni Falcone. We were also visited by Giulio Andreotti back in the late 70's.
Wow that's cool. Were they speaking in English or Italian? I think Mattarella speaks a little English and I knew Matteo Renzi did. I'm sure Nancy Pelosi who calls herself an Italian-American would never lower herself to attend such a mass as she is a total hypocrite. As an Italo-American , I'm ashamed to see her hold such a high office and she is a total "cafona"!
He spoke to us in Italian. Story on Pelosi. We had a street festival that we held for a few years. One year, she shows up with her daughters. She is sitting in our Casa and a daughter orders pizza. We were making the pizza. One of the ladies wanted to spit on the pizza we were serving to her. Another did not want to serve her at all. This was years ago, mid 2000's, way before Trump. Of course, here stance on abortion did not bode well with my Church ladies.
Looking up on wiki, Vito Mannone in Atalanta's youth squad from 2003-2005 then went to Arsenal.... He played a lot for Sunderland...
