Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? With their players, Spurs should have performed much better than that. I think Juande Ramos should go. He is a talented manager but his football style seems to be unsuitable in EPL. Likes of Roman Palyuvchenko, Luka Modric and dos Santos lack strength to play well in this competition.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? While I'm rooting against Spurs every game I see them, I don't think it'll happen. Eventually they'll get some kind of system going, and make it to saftey in like, 14th or something.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? It's not as if his British players are exactly playing to their full potential either though.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? There is no way they will go down, they will beat Bolton next game and then beat Arsenal and the season will start from there. Them beating Arsenal is almost 100% guarenteed.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? Wow. When was the last time Spurs beat Arsenal in the League? 1963?
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? It's 1999. But I get your drift, BoltonMassiv. The irony so beloved of the Football Gods does decree that Spurs will get their first three points against Arsenal.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? ********er. I can't believe you didn't alert me to this thread sooner. Its brilliant!
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? Commoli, Ramos, Poyet and staff are all gone. Redknapp to the rescue. They'll be fine now.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? Well Redknapp cant do any worse, so there's not much to lose.
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? Wow, was Ramos really this big of a problem? Redknapp Spurs beat Bolton barely awake. Harry really likes fixing borken teams, I guess...
Re: Is their a chance that spurs will get relegated? It's the honeymoon phase, since most teams with new managers do well initially. Spurs did when Jol left and Ramos came in. besides, i'm thinking this could be good for Redknapp as well as Spurs. Redknapp has never really managed a big club before. Even though spurs have been poor since the start of the premier league in 1992, they still do have a big fan base and tradition, so in that sense they are a big club. It's the opportunity for Harry to show what he's capable of now he has more resources.
Redknapp = money grabbing mercenary. Cannot believe he walked out on a side like Pompey, who are really going places and competing in Europe, and went to Spurs, a side sliding down quicker than George Michael in a public toilet just because they offered him more money. I mean, how does he do it? He walked out on Portsmouth once and went down the road to their biggest rivals and now he's done it to them again. The Pompey fans I've spoken to since the weekend have been very polite about it, but I'd be seething, personally. I hope they go down now, because in a world where mercenary players are castigated every week for following the green, this odious little man has constantly got away with it time and time again and never gets called out. He makes Ronaldo look like a lifer...........
I'm sure the £5m Spurs paid Portsmouth in compensation helped. Besides - generalise much? What precisely does Redknapp get away with "time and time again"? His managerial career consists of nine years at Bournemouth, seven at West Ham and another five at Portsmouth. Sure, he did the little flit up the coast, but that was a) an exception and b) driven by the changes at Portsmouth at that time as much as anything else. In the time Redknapp has taken in four clubs as manager, Spurs have made, on either permanent or caretaker terms, 17 managerial appointments. Their last guy, you might remember, was tapped up before his predecessor was even sacked. Not sure this story is about Redknapp, to be honest.
If reports are to be believed then Portsmouth aren't exactly in perfect financial health - their wage bill is huge compared to their turnover. Redkanpp was moaning in late August that there was no money left for players and I imagine Spurs have promised to back him heavily in January (no doubt Diarra will be one of several Portsmouth players to follow him).
This will be the start of intense antagonism between Spurs fans and the Pompey faithful. I think this is the beginning of the end in terms of Portsmouth being a legitimate top half finished - they will have to sell more players come January (at least some of whome could very well be snapped up by Tottenham), and they will need to greatly downsize if they plan on staying in the black.
Redknapp is just a choice to get back into midtable and out of the dangerous end, which will be no major problem given the level of quality in the squad. Especially now the likes of Modric has started fitting into Premiership play. I'm sure he'll be busy in January as well, it will be the most net spending he will be able to make than at any other club in his career.
Yeah, but that's not gonna be net spending which is crazy like that guy suggested. You can only buy so many average players without looking like an idiot.
