We could get a journeyman American defender to take stupid reds for a tenth of his salary. I'm just not feeling the greatness of Mr. Mancienne.
I don’t know if he’s a bust, but he’s a waste of salary in terms of talent to dollars ratio, no doubt.
I keep waiting to see more, but with each passing week, I get closer to coming to the conclusion that this is pretty much it. evergreen tbhhttps://t.co/ekKZOyP6XB— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) April 7, 2019
15 games played and a full preseason and he has yet to prove worthy of his high salary. He is a mediocre at best player in this league. Like Brad and the Revs FO, I wanted this guy to come in and plug up the middle of the defense and take charge. He has yet to show anything on the field other than being a total waste of cap room. I'd take Soares over this POS any day of the week
Mancienne, The Million Money Man! ..... has a ring to it....... Unfortunately, it is not the Bell of Victory which is ringing.
Up until the foul that sent him off, he was actually having an outstanding game. It's the nature of the job that any central defender will have some ugly moments that people will point to. Whether he's worthy of his salary or not is another story, but he's actually played well this year.
To my eyes, he's seemed good for 99% of the game, with one or two stupendous mistakes every game. That type of performance would be acceptable for an attacking player (scores a few bangers, misses a sitter - basically Agudelo's story), but is not acceptable for someone supposed to be a defensive rock.
Yeah, I remember how that other central defender from years back yusta rack up all those cards. That Parkhurst, man, what a hack he was. Made Joey Franchino look like a Lady Byng candidate.
Only the revs could limit their spending for so long then overspend on a shit defender like Mancienne. For the cherry on top, he's the captain
Approximately 2 million in payroll is spent on Somi, Agudelo and Mancienne. Money well spent? Going to say NOPE!
Basically the Revs are the opposite of a "moneyball" team. They will spend money, but it's just not on the right players.
But he's from Marlboro and played for the USMNT in the '94 World Cup. The Krafts are big on nostalgia, less so on results.
