They've done some controversial decisions such as expanding the World Cup and giving Qatar the right to host. Are they in the mindset that it will be popular no matter what?

LOL autocorrect changed it to duo. It's supposed to say World Cup.

We need a stronger competition with a maximum of 16 teams. And with another system and another name.

I think FIFA knows exactly how popular the World Cup is, and even though they are practicaly doing everythig to destroy it, it will stay what it is, simply the most popular sport event in the world, by pretty big margin!

I think we will see a lot more players opting out if international tournaments and games in future years, but they'll probably still do the WC.

I think soccer is already too popular that no matter what, it will not lose any popularity. Not too worried about that. But yes FIFA should be more careful. World cup should be hosted by the leading soccer nation only.

I am going to Russia, and if alive going to Qatar.

So maybe it is just me* who is the enabler.

*Really all of us that support FIFA by supporting our teams.

I don't think it will end, but it could end up losing a lot of prestige. If there are perceived to be too many weak teams the Europeans might not take it that seriously, kind of like the Club World Cup now.

Only team game that almost every country plays. Fifa just expanding that popularity with its choices for host countries. It's not for granted they just maximizing its audience ... as Sep Blatter said... one day there be might intergalactic games
