In Chrome, new threads are not shown to be obvious. The bold doesn't stand out from an already read thread.
I made a similar complaint in the thread on the Technical Problems and Bug Reports board. Where are we supposed to post issues?
Post them here and I'll compile a list this weekend. Post specific complaints as well, such as "too wide/wasted space in middle." General stuff does not help.
This looks very bad....once again. I have finally adjusted to BigSoccer's new look and you decide to change it again. It is very hard to tell the quote from the original post and one post to the next....but worse of all, "My" BigSoccer is gone.
Anyone else experiencing slow editor performance since the "upgrade"? As I type this post right now, the letters are appearing a couple of seconds after I type them. I feel like I've stepped back in time to full-duplex 1200 baud connections.
Does anyone else not like the faded gradient when you quote posts or pics? It makes it hard to keep conversations that go back and forth.
The wide screen is starting to hurt my eyes and give me a headache, but that's just because I'm not accustomed to reading anything online in this way. As a way around, I opened the site in a new browser window, took it out of maximize, and compressed the sides. The site will adjust to the width of your window. If you're looking for a temporary way around the wide issues until they are (I hope) fixed, you may want to consider giving this a try. I've tried this in Firefox and IE, by the way.
i must be an ignoramus because i never knew there was another way. because you haven't chosen to watch any forums... it's the threads that automatically get watched when you contribute... but the same thing happened to me first time as well because the watched forums button is exactly where the watched threads button was before.
It's definitely fine to be critical - but just bear in mind that we did run tests but the size of our database is extremely large and it would be very difficult and impractical to run a duplicate of it and much of the issues don't become issues until you run it on a large scale (which happened here). It's annoying in the interim, but like I mentioned earlier, the priority is getting open again so people can post, over waiting until everything is perfect to avoid some complaints. It's not perfect, but just hoping you can bear with us while we do our best to sort out any remaining problems.
Can't speak for Knave, but that may not have been his problem. A lot of people who *had* chosen to watch various forums had those preferences dropped in the upgrade, and since the upgrade have had to try to remember which forums they had been watching and re-watch them.
No more location, join date or anything like that...instead we have "Staff Members". no offense but really, do you think anyone cares? If it says, "Mod" or "Supermod" we understand that you are some how "staff"...but why the redundancy?
for a long time (months?) after the previous update i was getting lag with IE that would go to 6-8 or more seconds on IE when my post ran over 2-300 words, but never a hint of that on chrome. the false error message that has led so many to double post so often also never happens on chrome. however it seems to me that the difficulty in font formatting is only lessened on chrome. WYS is NOT always WYG... even WYG is not always WYG after an edit or a c/p... in any and all cases getting WYW has been a crusade... any progress on this front will be a good job well done.
I'm not a fan of the colors in general. They fade into each other too much. I prefer more contrast or at least more solid lines. Everything is back on the Watched Forums page. However, the "My" page is now another Watched Forums page. I can't speak for others, but I preferred to see Watched Threads on the My page or at least see Threads above the Forums.
So is this new format permanent or will TPTB go back to the old look to it? I've heard a few people gripe about losing the location and favorite teams listing under their names.
