Any post that you quote that has more than 8 lines will show up with a link at the bottom that says "Click to Expand" to read the full post.
I don't see any text that says "Click to Expand." Actually, posts that were able to be expanded now are not working for me so I only see a shortened quote.
Let me add some constructive criticism. Here's what I liked better about BigSoccer yesterday (now that I've found via Google Image Search a screenshot of how it used to be, included below): * The font was more readable. This is the biggest one. * The line separator between posts was much clearer. * The separation between avatar and post was much clearer. * The separation between post and signature was much clearer. * Member Since, Location, and Club were all listed under the avatar picture. * As many have noted, you could actually see text boxes you were typing in. * All in all, everything had a much better contrast: you could see dark grey against white, whereas it's difficult now to see light grey against white. Mod edit (8/18): @Huss @dark knight This is what I think a lot are talking about in terms of readability. The current width is an issue in terms of readability. Think about posted news articles and such.
Evidently "Baisik" isn't a misspelling. It's really cumbersome inserting links without a text editor functions. I don't prefer going old-school.
I don't mind going old-school for the links at all; I just wish the links were actually reasonably visible to others when you post them.
Not sure if it's a bug or just a question of compatibility, but I'm also having the same issues in Google Chrome. The formatting is slight off and the Quick Reply text box is completely grey.
It's not only Chrome (my default browser of choice). I loaded the site up in Safari and it's exactly the same.
left-side Forum drop-down/expand box gives the following messages (and does not want to close again, which is ugly and unfortunate): Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_EXTENDS, expecting T_STRING in /home/www/bigsoccer.com/community/library/XenForo/Application.php(456) : eval()'d code on line 1 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{', expecting T_STRING in /home/www/bigsoccer.com/community/library/XenForo/Application.php(482) : eval()'d code on line 1 Fatal error: Class 'XFCP_WidgetFramework_XenForo_View1' not found in /home/www/bigsoccer.com/community/library/WidgetFramework/XenForo/View1.php on line 15 EDIT: DO NOT try to replicate this error (unless you're a mod or developer trying to fix it) as it will not go away now, there is no way to shrink it back, it opens on every page and blocks the first 20 lines or so - I even tried killing the browser and starting over, it still happens (sorry about the bold, it must have got it from the last line typed prior to edit)
I just hate having to remember the proper BBCode to be honest. Unlike twitter posts, I never bothered to remember youtube formatting. #USMNT Lineup for #USAvBIH: Howard ©; Evans, Cameron, Brooks, F. Johnson; Bradley, Jones; Bedoya, Diskerud, E. Johnson; Altidore— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) August 14, 2013
So what's the trick with Twitter posts? I see a media tag and a number in between. What's the number?
Edit: This style isnt as bad as that Baiysick shit they had. This is reasonable i suppose, but why are you guys changing shit? I understand the upgrades, but why change the color schemes and layout?
My guess is the upgrade killed the style they were using and so they had to revert to the default ones available for the time being until they could recover what was lost.
The Xen Default colors are a little Vineyard Vines, but honestly I'm just glad to have a serif font back. Hopefully the admins will use their CSS magic to get us a happy medium. Edited to add: Using BigSoccer Xen now...much better. (Except that error message bar over on the left is still there, of course...)
I will like it if you keep the new quote function rule. One thing that bugs me is if someone types a long post and then someone come along and quotes the whole damn thing just to say "I agree." Just quote what you need and who cares if it takes you an additional 7 seconds to trim the fat.
