We're heading to Europe soon (England, Belgium, Netherlands) and are thinking about taking either our iPhone or iPad with us.

What is the best/cheapest SIM card/plan to get? And can we get a card that works in all of these countries, or would we have to get a new one for each place?

The iPhone is a 4S and unlocked (from Sprint, if that matters) and the iPad is the "mini".

    Thanks!

It may not be exactly what you want, but what about Skype through WiFi? Obviously, you'd have to find a hotspot, but you can't beat free.

Oh, I guess I should clarify that it's not for calling, we just want it for data - to be able to use GPS and maps to find our way around, to look up nearby things to see, to be able to check bus/train schedules, etc.
