Mexico is just a LOT better than the US. Maybe they "should" not be but our coaching and players are just very VERY bad.
Again, the left side of the team. Steffen cannot play out of the back. But as I said months ago when Steffen gave up a similar goal, that one is on the coach. It is clear that he is demanding this play out of the back nonsense. It is bad tactics, yet he will not stop demanding it. Foolishness.
I’ve been watching Weston for awhile now, and I can’t remember one game where I thought “damn, he’s a really good player”. I just haven’t seen what everyone else does.
What is Steffen doing? What is the whole team doing? What is the coaching staff doing? Why do we watch this? These are sadly all legitimate questions.
Egg is a bad coach at this level. This is a friendly but some losses hurt more than others. You don't come out with this strategy in this sort of game. Good grief.
Our smart youth goes for the sports that pay millions (basketball, football, baseball) or for college. Soccer gets, for the most part, the dum-dums.
I think McKinnie is a lot like Morales, more defensive, can make a marauding run forward every now and again, but primarily his best asset is reading and making tackles. The issue is we put a lot of pressure on the CMs to make offense, and he just isn't that player yet, or maybe never. We need Pomykal or someone else to step up to be that, but right now Gregg is content just wasting a couple of spots on the field.
