Cappis looked like one of our better players in the Canary Islands tourney. Good vision, calm, rangy enough. He's in the mold of Busquets.
No one came to mind immediately. But Edu was the first one I thought of. Cameron is also reasonable shout. But, take my opinion with a large grain of salt. This is based off like 100 minutes of watching him.
I hear ya. He is from the Greater Houston Area so a few of us around here have been following him, hoping for good things from the boy. In the South, Zima had one outlet and that was the sorority girls on campus or at the pool party. They loved Zima with a Jolly Rancher dropped inside to round out the taste. Us men floated kegs! 'MERICA!
Nah, the real old fogies would have said he's like Adu. But they still would have gone for a Zima or a Wine Cooler......
I would start the best U23 team available. Bring in vets in the second half to give them a cap. I think Gregg will do the opposite, start a mostly O23 team then sub in the kids. The on spot is LB, where if Gasper has been better, he should play and get some experience. I suspect he must have been better because I don't think Vines is up to even this level. Kids will play because they are just not enough O23 players to even make an 11. I'm most curious to see Turner get the start in GK. His shot stopping was the best in MLS last year and let's see what he has. I know what Johnson and Hamid can do. Assuming Ferreira is not eligible, this is probably what Gregg starts with: ----Lewis-----Zardes-----Arriola--- ----Lletget----Yueill----Aaronsen Gasper----Zimmerman---Long---Cannon ---------------Johnson--------------- He probably ends with: ----Llanez----Zardes----Lewis ---Aaronson----Servania---Cappis Vines---McKenizie---Glad----Cannon --------------Johnson---------- If Gasper is hurt or not good, then Vines probably goes the whole game and Araujo gets a cap for Cannon.
Zima? That's for kids. I'm going to get a Tuborg, or a Lowenbrau. If I want to be fancy, maybe some Blue Nun. (actually, in the early 90's I was an unemployed lawyer and some kids [21?] rented the shack behind me. Sacramento was the test market for Zima. I spent several afternoons hanging out w/ the kids drinking Zima and watching early 90's cartoons.
I logged into the stupid US Soccer account manager thingy on Ticketmaster to view my tickets for this game....I get a screen that says “no details”. Anyone else having this issue?
from ussoccer.com follow the red tickets link, it directs you through axs (which i assume is just the daniel lovitz of ticket distribution sites).
I'm really curious where Cappis will line up. I've only seen a few highlights of his playing but he seems to have the skill set that Berhalter wants of his #6. Clips I saw had him passing and controlling from deep midfield. If he's also athletically gifted and can defend, he could be a serious upgrade in that spot because so far the guys we roll out there have serious holes in their games on the defensive side and in athleticism. A stronger all around type of player who still passes like Berhalter wants could potentionaly improve this team quite a lot.
I have watched some of his games and because he is on a bottom-half team he defends a lot. I see him get out of jams with the ball when pressed. He seems to have a good motor but not as fast as Adam. He is very strong and can handle physical opponents, something that Adam is not known for. I'm hearing that he had a good camp, hopefully, we will see him play either the 6 or a RM positio
I'm hoping Berhalter uses this game more for U23 prep and rolls out a lineup that lets us get a look at Cappis and some of the other youngsters. Would make for a much more interesting watch than the same ol' same ol'. And, considering who he released, I'm not sure he won't.
I paid to have the tickets delivered. I still have not yet received them 30 days after my order and two days before the event. They are also not responding to my enquiries.
