Some improvements. Our defense looks solid, and I'm glad we are able to string more than 3 passes without giving possession. I wonder how we'd fare against a very high pressuring team when we back-pass to reset our buildup play..
I don't think this team would be especially vulnerable to pressing, as they're clearly willing to play long balls when necessary. They also play quickly and with purpose so there's relatively less risk of lazy back and forth passing.
- First half was good thus far, a really organized defense even under pressure and counter-attacks, lot's of buildup plays off of long and short passes whilst stringing good runs on the flanks and into the box. I'm loving how we're constantly switching/transitioning from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2, whilst keeping ball possession and keeping a balance between defense and attack, plus a very controlled tempo. It's refreshing considering this is what modern football looks like, especially how we've been set back a 100 years back due to piss poor management, whilst looking like a bunch of amateurs. - Ki is irreplaceable, superb passes and cover from the central midfield, even won the ball back whilst converting into a FK. Has eagle eye vision for spotting open spaces and teammates creeping through the oppositions back space. - Son, as with the Asian Games, he's been playing more of a team=player rather than his usual one man army scoring galore. Dropping back to help with the defense, whilst help making runs during buildup plays, not to mention that he's drawing in defenders to create lot's of space for our attacking opportunities. - Nam Tae-hee, lot's of good runs into the box, especially converting one into a penalty, stringing lot's of 1-2 passes in open spaces. - Ji, say what you want, but he's been playing like he did back in 2011, almost scored a few times whilst breaking the Costa Rican defense on numeral occasions. Good to see him back to his old form. - Lee Jae-sung, scored a goal, perhaps his rebound was off of an intentional post hitting kick by Son of which was practiced through the team training session. Lot's of good runs on the flanks and help covering on the defense. - Hong Chul and Lee Yong with good crosses on the left and right flanks.
JDW is impressive... How tf did he not go to the WC. He is miles ahead of KSW in hold up play, link up play, defensive duties and positioning.
Choi Yong Soo on the guy who stomped JDW's arm just now: "I think that player should change sports... something that involves more stomping" LOL love this guy's commentary.
When the hell did that happen, other than STY's two game stint between HMB and Uli? We weren't playing like a fine tuned machine under Uli early on, not at all. They called it "Swamp Soccer" for a reason.
Bro are you going for a poor man's zrdstve?? LOL Enough of your newfound contrarianism. This system is miles ahead of Stieleke or STY's shitstems.
