Except then the US is the only country to get $$ from the games, instead of BRA and NZL also getting some of the cut...
They can easily split the proceeds between the federations of the four nations. The only downside obviously is the lack of exposure for fans of the other nations that would have attended.

Lianne Sanderson and Jodie Taylor called up for England's match vs. Sweden on 8/3 http://www.thefa.com/news/england/w...n-hartlepool-united-fara-williams-caps-record
Taylor and Sanderson called up for qualifier vs. Wales: http://www.thefa.com/news/england/womens/2014/aug/mark-sampson-confirms-squad-for-wales Sanderson's departure won't matter, since Boston is eliminated, but Taylor is a loss for the Spirit. Yes, they won their two games without her last week, but it still could hurt them if she is gone for the SkyBlue game.
Well, here we go with club rights versus being nice to the player. Washington only has to release Taylor two days before the match so in theory Taylor should be available. Now u could argue this doesnt help Taylors NT chances and she would prolly be snockered for the playoffs...it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I thought it was 5 days before the match for qualifiers and the like. Both Sanderson and Fishlock won't be with their clubs this weekend, so I would assume the same for Taylor.
Interesting...I also noticed that the WSL doesnt have games scheduled for the weekend before the window though they do have a full slate for the weekend after.
So given that we are almost at the end of the year, does anyone want to take a crack at making a new international dates thread for 2015? I can than un-stick this thread
And it's only three pages long so it not someone could start at the beginning and have to read thru a lot of stuff to get up to date.
According to one of my contacst in the France staff, Nike actually tried to organise a 4 teams tournament in Portland but did not manage to find an agreement with the teams. About the FIFA dates for early 2015 : 10-15 Jan 7-12 Feb 4-11 Mar Algarve Cup/ Cyprus Cup 4-9 April 6 Jun - 5 Jun FIFA WC
Nothing in May? There is usually a two day window. It's a tough year to organize a tournament with most leagues playing tighter schedules because of WC. Hopefully they persist.
Merritt Paulson did a Timbers/Thorns Q&A today and the subject of friendlies for the Thorns came up. He said
The release date for the World Cup is the 23rd of May. Loads of freindlies will be played between that date and the 6th of June.
Jodie Taylor (Thorns) has been called up for the England/China Friendly on April 9 so might not be available for Thorns home opener April 11.
