How did Sao Caetano get to participate in the CL but this isnt about America. This is about Chivas i just think you were full of shyt when you said that. You are already putting a pretext as to why you think they will lose and if they win??? make the win alot bigger than it really was by saying they were inexpereinced??
Memo to America fans: Stop yer bitching. Take your team's early exit like men (or boys, for most you) and move on. Who cares how Bofo scored? The only thing that matters is what the scoreboard says at the end of the game. Period. And if you guys are so by-the-book and honest, the next time an America player scores using his hand, I expect all you guys to demand the goal be discounted and for your team not to enjoy the victory. Anyway, the dude on channel 52 said they might play the second leg of the Cienciano series here in LA (stadium problems?). That would be freakin sweet!!
America fans dont need to b1tch about anything here. We have participated 4 times (always advancing out of the group stages). we arent like Chivas or Monterrey.
Chivas was the third least deserving team to have gone to copa libertadores, america was first because Necaxa did play better after the jaguares game and should have beaten Toluca . Is it ok to be alarmed at Chivas playing bad or is it too soon and they just need more games to start playing well? because by the looks of it they better beat Cienciano so they can concentrate in Libertadores, because by the way theyre playing and knowing they got no refuerzos they are going to struggle in the Mexican league for sure.
You havent finished eating your bowl of crow left over from your Copa America statement "Mexico will NEVER beat Argentina" heh.. Dont worry about el Rebano Sagrado.. they are the only team to have finished the Interliga Undefated and they even used their reserve keepers.. and yes we came off a bad pre season, even lost to some 2nd division team.. Campbells chunky Crow soup, Mmm.. .
Good. Then you won't have a shortage of tapes to pop in the VCR while Chivas is playing their Copa games. Might I suggest the 8-0(?) win over Olimpia. That will be particularly enjoyable for you.
Why are Americanistas complaining? this game did not affect them whatsoever, they were allready out of the competition.
You forgot 1 thing... Cienciano I hate to say it, but Chivas will not advance. Pachuca will not advance (they better take advantage of the altitude) Tigres has the best chance
Mexico's Guadalajara, UNL qualify for Libertadores MEXICO CITY, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Guadalajara and UNL took Mexico's two remaining berths in this year's South American Libertadores Cup by beating Chiapas and Toluca respectively in the finals of a qualifying tournament. Guadalajara, the only Mexican club not to field foreigners, beat the Jaguars 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw while Monterrey-based UNL beat Toluca 2-0 in a double bill at the Reliant stadium in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday. http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-libertadoresmexico&prov=reuters&type=lgns
Attendance was 28,112. Tigres Sprints to 2-0 Victory Chivas Survive in Shootout Soccer still lacks appeal for Masses In my opinion, it was a 'interesting' crowd. First off, it can be well said that there was a pluarlity of Chivas supporters - probably 40-45% of the crowd. But, there is no question to me that the Tigres fans were the loudest. One Tigres supporters group took up a half an end-line section and sang the entire first match - they were by far the loudest and most prominant group in the stands. Tigres also had Reliant covered in banners, where there was only one prominant Chivas banner. In contrast, most of the Chivas support was spread out around the stadium - there was a supporters group up on the club level, but they looked to be half the strength of the Tigres group, and being that high, the singing wasn't as effective. One thing that bothered me was the crowd seemed to be almost dis-interested in the match. Everytime the police came to escort someone out 5+ sections of fans would stand and crane to try to see what was going on - completely ignoring the match. 'The wave' was started or attempted to be started in each half of both matches. Maybe it's just me, but I have little patience for stuff like that. Of the four clubs, Tigres was the most impressive on the night. They were fast, it seemed they won every ball, they played good defense (I think I counted that Cardozo had 3 touches the entire first 45.) Toluca really disappointed me. I thought they would be much stronger. They continually played the ball through the middle, even when Tigres was winning everything, and very few attackes were successful. The start of the 2nd was brighter, I was at midfield, so I didn't have a good view of Cardozo's offside goal that was disallowed on 50 - but by his reaction (running immediately to the linesman), I thought he seemed to acknowledge he was offside. Only a few minutes later, Tigres struck back, but the goal was disallowed for a handball. I think (those of you who saw this on TV need to help me here) that the officials made the correct call - but it seemed to me they used the replay (on the Giant Reliant screens) to reverse the call. I thought that was unfair. For Tigres, I was very impressed by #8-Soares. For Toluca, I was impressed by #7-Chavez, and when he was pulled on 60, they never seemed to be as affective. #6-de la Torre looked lost and/or invisible, and #20-Estay who was subbed in on 60 was very poor. I hate to judge a guy seeing him on only one performance, but he had zero touch and zero ball skill. He seemed to kill what little combination passing Toluca was able to have success with against the Tigres defense. Cardozo was enigmatic - he had two opportunities, one he finished (offside) one was cleared on the goalmouth. The service to him was poor, but he never forced his way onto the ball to make a play, I was disappointed in that. In the second match, I thought that Chivas clearly looked the better team, but Jaguares would not let up and showed a lot of tenacity. After the first goal from the corner - I thought the Chivas backup-keeper was in for a long night. I thought he was at fault on that one. But he came back from it and played very well the rest of the evening. Again, I was at mid-field, so not the best perspective, but to me, Bautista's goal was clearly handled before the chip. Obviously, both clubs reacted poorly. Jaguares showed no class in their reaction - instead of accepting a bad call they complained to no end, and went after several Chivas players. On the other side, Bravo and Bautista displayed an utter lack of class, and I think the sending offs were right - and there may should have been more. Tough to come down to penalties, but I think, overall, the better team won on the night. It was a really good night of soccer. By far the best of the many Mexican League exhibitions I've seen here in Houston. The fact that Libratadores was on the line really had the squads playing hard. (Sorry this went so long.)
intresting article, but his quote is the best. Right now, more suburban teenagers and casual fans searching for heroes are more connected to beer-bellied Texas Hold 'Em players than they are to skilled athletes like those of Tigres, Toluca, Chivas and Jaguares. Who the hell likes to see poker on TV?!
WTF, I don't get that one at all! I guess I've been living under a rock or something. So it won't be long before my favorite channesl, History Channel, starts showing historic poker games. Lame! Or PBS will do funds raiser by holding a Texas Hold'em tourney. Real Lame! History Channel is already pissing me off with that other fad car shows.
I thought you might be kidding at first but you really haven't noticed all the poker in TV or magazines like Maxim and FHM?
02.02.05 Chivas - Cienciano 09.02.05 Cienciano - Chivas Home team listed first. http://www.conmebol.com/competiciones_evento_partidos.jsp?evento=1081&ano=2005&slangab=S
No I have not. I watch a lot of sports, but regular tv program does not suit me very well. Aside from PBS or HistoryChannel I don't watch much else. Maxim and FHm are magazine I don't read. I do read Gentlemen Quarterly and Details, I'm not trying to sound, like Hugo said, uppity or anything. I get home pretty late from work/gym/bar/girlfriends so I must be selective in what I watch. I have to watch futbol/all other sports. It really does leave much time to get into programs.
That crap is on everywhere and most of the time they are reruns of the same tournaments over and over. my brother is into that stuff... cant wait for that fad to blow over
you guys play poker? give me your nicknames in the online pokerrooms you play in so we can play (pokerstars anyone)
