I'm rooting for us to win or at least keep the draw. But I realize that, to the extent we need to sell a midfielder in January, Inter will have even less money to spend (and less urgency to spend any) if they don't advance. But I don't like doing any business with Inter after they screwed us on the Rafinha transfer verbal promise.
Two years in a row, Inter gifted by Barca playing mostly subs in match day 6, both times Inter just needed to win to get through in 2nd. Both times they could not do it (against PSV last year (while we played Spurs to a 1-1 draw with subs), us this year).
Here it comes; INTER having 3 goals annulled for offside in their own stadium against us is pure karma.
Quite lucky to win that, but still a strong performance overall by the B side. Good move by Valverde to bring on Fati there against tired legs. Fati looked super dangerous from the moment he came on. I would say he probably should've been subbed in earlier, but Carles looked good so couldn't really sub him off early.
Yeah, I thought about that too. I don't feel the least bit bad about last season even though we kinda gifted Spurs an easy(ier) point by fielding a B side. Inter still could've advanced had they beaten PSV so its on them! But I'm glad we are not responsible for Dortmund's exit this season. It would've been totally unfair on them if Inter advanced, after Dortmund earned a result against a Barca "A" team and avoided dropping points to Slavia, unlike Inter.
