I didn’t watch the game but on paper or reading about it, this seems fixed to me! Going down soft and calling a pk in 92nd minute? Which ref in the world does this? Sounds really fishy. I doubt FIFA or Uefa would want two Italian teams in the semifinals of the CL during a World Cup year especially since Italy didn’t make it. To have both Messi and Ronaldo eliminated will be a disaster for sponsors.
the old man has lost his mind. an all time quote. almost as good asbenhtia ( spelling ) referring to people who blame the refs as losers. love that mentality!
Fwiw I think he intentionally got the red card so as not to be between the posts when they went down.
ya right. if Buffon really wanted a red card he would do more something spectacle or go out with a bang. he'll be back next year
You're right, of course. And it would have been a real shame if it happened to just about anyone else.
roma give hope to every shit club in the world. they dont have a lot of $$$ but made it to a CL semi final. meanwhile, psg spend hundreds of millions on all kinds of players and always crash out early! who would be " easiest " opponent for roma??? havent watched much of bayern/liverpool this season. obviously, they want to avoid real madrid.
Just before Germany passed Serie A for that third spot / 4 CL teams, one goal that eliminated one of our beloved Serie A team by Robben, I believe was at least 5ft offside. The team that got shafted? La Viola. The little engine that could was outplaying the German giants....shafted. I remember that. It followed with many many ref errors going against Serie A teams for some time. EPL teams were mostly the beneficiaries in the subsequent years, but it seemed any club that played a Serie A club usually got the weak calls their way, and anyone who played Barca or Real, including Bayern. Follow the money?
i hope bayern/real is more entertaining/competitive. btw i had no idea james milner was still around.
my brother adopted liverpool as his team a few years ago. i'd hated lfc since i started following milan regularly in 2007 or so. with little bro being so into them over the last few seasons, i've watched a ton of games, and i've grown to appreciate the way they play. klopp is bonkers and fun, and mane, firmino, coutinho, and now salah have been exceptional. i'd rather see them or roma win the CL than either of real or bayern. i don't think liverpool will blow a 3 goal lead next week, but we've seen stranger things already this year.
