You win something and want sprinkles? Get a jersey, head to the store, buy a f'n star and sew it on your damn self. * Bitter MLS fan whose team will never win the league here.
My bad. I thought you were tougher than that. Should your " how hostile could it really be? " takeover ever occur, some members apparently will seek your approval to create a "Jimmie motif " to spruce up the no-win whites. Jimmies. That's what we called them in Philly when I was kid. Times change, so they say. Had to learn to go with the Flo...........

Seriously ... why don't they show the runner-up, second-place, participation medal? You know, the one Vinnie Nogs so vehemently removed from around his neck?

Random news and notes around the league: Got a chance to see "most" of the games week 1, some comments on the rest of MLS.......... Chicago looks a bit better, the Crew don't look in too good of shape physically. They collapsed at home in the second half up a goal. Work rate fell off a cliff, they let the Fire back in it and should have lost in all honesty. Steffen looks like a big step up from Clark for me. FC Dallas can lose Castillo......and Diaz....and still go on the road and look good in getting a win @ the Stubby Hubby. Keep doin' what ya do Oscar! Minnesota was 1-2 and in it......and then fell apart on D over the last seven minutes. I blame Heath. He started the wrong striker........not that I know anything about that........... Atlanta hmm: so that's what well spent money looks like................... Want to spend the rest of this thread talking about stadiums, kind of. They were, for me.......the biggest takeaways...... Dear Orlando: Yours looks beautiful from the inside, and you christened it right. I don't go on other MLS clubs boards, consider it inappropriate generally. If any of your base ever comes here and reads this, ........I dislike you a little bit less today. I haven't followed the stories surrounding its opening until this weekend, and I asked my wife to watch the beginning with me-because we hoped to make it back there for a game at some point. That's when we saw the seats ......I had to turn it off for her sake. The last 3 years or so have been about the darkest period in our family's existence for many and varied reason. The summer of '16 became the clock striking midnight. I don't know how big of a soccer fan our Cousin is-but on her behalf as owner-and on those of our entire family: Thank You. Houston-took note of Glenn Davis' in-game comments with interest. Seems they have widened BBVA to take greater advantage of their newfound speed. They can certainly run now. Taking down the champs was the shock result of the weekend. Cabrera may be the Cubo whisperer. He looked in the move to break out the robot with regularity this year. Finally; DC/SKC............. Really thought this could be the game of the weekend. It was; for all the wrong reasons. I know they've shoveled dirt......but you still have to......"play" at RFK for awhile. Would it kill ya to spring for some rakes & sod in the interim? Some here are bitchin' about BC place today. At least that was flat! The conditions on the field are an absolute disgrace to the league......and for all the gushing the Don wants to do about expansion he'd better stop for a minute and consider what's going on with one of his banner franchises before his grand vision gets further afield. They don't clean this up I suggest they play all their games on the road...........
Game to go, but early thoughts on MLS week 2 must begin with a lyrical tribute to the expansionites.......... An ode-if you will- to the USA ( Unaffected South Americans): Smashing through the snow, those tatas came to play........ O'er that turf they go-nippy on the day. Despite the icy din, of a jam-packed Loonie bin- those boys played great on ski and skate- and slalomed to a win ! Oh! Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells - Inchy's got no D. Again they're done, now 6 to 1- Almiron's running free......WHEE !! Jingle Bells, MinnU smells through rain or snow or sleet........... the Union's cursed but Minny's worse- Feel bad.......for Handsome Peeeeeette. Congrats on your first win Atlanta. Chicago and Houston look to be the most improved teams in the league. Do Quake fans now find themselves "Waiting for Godoy"? Benny should have saved some of those goals he hit Philly with.......... Jersey is using up all their OG reserves early. Berhalter could be an early frontrunner in the sack race. Montreal had a 2 goal lead late at home, had a PK called against and then choked their way to a draw. What a waste of Piatti that was. Never knew Dallas under Oscar to be a team that played to the dark side, but that was the most fun scoreless draw I've seen in some time........................
I stand by my statement.... Josh Gatt could be the league MVP (he won't be) and he still wouldn't save that shit show.
Then again, given the Union's slump busting history, Minneapolis's first win may not be until September. Then, we will be glad we only play them once.
