No one person should ever have complete say. It should be a team effort.

Chelsea has less incentive to get a deal done. The more time passes the more Diego hurts Diego and his chances at a WC. We could say F U if he doesn't want to be good and say train with u23s or we wait out your contract. He's stubborn and won't return and we won't have to pay him. We don't have to rush to sell him to Athletico. Yea you could argue we do that and we won't get a high return but we could say we're selling for top cash return to china only or wait out your contract if you don't return and behave.

Why would the club want Diego Costa anywhere near our U23s or anywhere near Cobham? Sell him to Atletico for as much as we can get, ASAP, and put this behind us.

heard somewhere that they made a final offer of around 58Mil pounds with the add-ons. that sounds just fine to me honestly. i have no idea why we wouldn't jump on that.

They may be tired of his antics and not want to give him what he wants. He's behaved poorly and they could be willing to eat his contract to punish him and set a standard. You can leave but not like that and not dictating both where and for how much. I think it gets done but in time. There's no rush.

Cause we need him training and staying in shape. If he can act like an adult it would help speed up the process of selling him. Since he can't I think the board will take their sweet time.

I really don't think the board acts like this, for good reason. They are all adults, business people. There's no reason to personalize this like many supporters do. Get what you can and move on. If we're able to send him where he wants to go and he's happy, so much the better. If AtM has truly offered in the range of 50mil Euros, I'm sure it will get done quickly, if it hasn't already.

While I agree don't forget this Romans team and he can do whatever he pleases. Now he's a successful businessman so in principle your correct there's no reason to personalize it. However, he's still a man. And I'm sure he's made more than a few decisions based on personal reasons.

I hope Athletico upped their bid. Think I saw 58 plus add on's. If so I think we do it and call it a day but if their still saying no it seems like it's personal. Or they've miss judged the market. Tho I think the former is more likely.

Supposedly Diego's fee is agreed for €55m and is holding his medical today.

57M pounds. Credit to our board. We get value while selling players. We just penny pinch while buying.

If we get close to that it's some truly spectacular business. We'd be doing well to get that in an open market despite some of that neymar money going round, but when the list of clubs is one more than the sum total of Liverpool's premier league titles, it's an amazing price. Fair play to the tptb if it goes through.

Really unfortunate how it had to end. Can't remember the last time a Chelsea player had such an ugly exit. And he was genuinely liked by the fans and contributed a lot for the club.

So how do we spend that money? Likely we won't but if we're to make a deep run, we may have to splash in jan for another striker to help morata out.

Chelsea should of never gotten rid of Costa. They are going to regret it in the future.
