http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2716942-ranking-the-best-goalkeepers-in-world-football One can make a plausible case for Neuer > De Gea, but the case for Oblak > De Gea is very weak. I've watched enough of Oblak to acknowledge that he's an outstanding keeper, but it's really not even that close between the two keepers.

Dave stays according to Jose. For now at least. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-news-de-gea-13372120
so essentially, mourinho got the feelign that de gea wanted to join madrid so he made him available but they couldn't be bothered to put a real offer down. fair enough. still think he'll go at some point and i can't say that i care very much as long as we get a decent fee.
A truly superb keeper. With all due respect to Manuel, the edge goes to David. He deserves to play for a club which goes deep in the Champions League. Let's hope United are such a club this season.
Dave has been at the club for 6yrs already, which is pretty remarkable under the circumstances (of the last 3yrs alone). He's won everything there is with United on the domestic front but we should have been able to do more, given the exceptional level of his own play. I fully expect him to leave at some point but if we could get 2 more years out of him, during which time we seriously challenge for the Prem and have a couple of solid European campaigns (where anything can happen the deeper you get in the knockout rounds), it would be a solid achievement. I honestly thought this was it this time around though...
It's a dream to play for Manchester United - Dave www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11020033/david-de-gea-says-it-is-a-dream-to-play-for-man-utd
Dave is still only 26 years old. Incredible. I do not retract what I wrote when he brought him to Old Trafford.
I've mentioned previously at times how frustrating Dave's silence can be, especially when the noise (about a potential move to Real) is non stop around him. However, it's become clear that he's not the type of guy who talks just to hear himself speak. And therefore when he does, it does have meaning. He's been at the club for quite some time, thru good and bad times, yet, despite tempting offers, he's still a United players. Still think he'll eventually go back to Spain at some point, but it's clear that he does hold United in high regard and will at the club a little while longer.
David De Gea has now made 100 clean sheets for Manchester United.Safe hands. 👏 pic.twitter.com/ssFnhTJ1sY— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) September 17, 2017
Wow. Lol. I cannot even celebrate this or think it a high achievement. A lot of those goals scored on this cat have little to do with his keeping and more to do with the garbage defenders ahead of him. He should have reached this mark long ago with even semi-competent teammates.
Important win and 100 clean sheets 😳 I never imagined I would reach that figure. Thank you all 👊🏻 #mufc pic.twitter.com/JOY5MYTmoc— David de Gea (@D_DeGea) September 17, 2017 Nice Collection ! De Gea is the best right now - Darmian www.ibtimes.co.uk/manchester-uniteds-david-de-gea-hailed-worlds-best-goalkeeper-1642278
With Neuer out and Gigi in decline, his only real competition would be Courtois, Lloris, or Oblak. All of which are a tier below imo.
Oblak is the one who consistently has been the closest to Dave, as far as I'm concerned, in the past year or two. There are solidly ahead of the likes of Courtois, Lloris, Navas and others.
Happy birthday to David De Gea. The best goalkeeper in the world turns 27 today. 👏 pic.twitter.com/SpEypZbjCp— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) November 7, 2017
