Agreed 100%. Some ppl are as delusional as these players. Some guys like Morata could've extended their career playing a secondary role, instead he opted to feature on the weekly horror-show highlight reel while we continued to win CL trophies
The plain truth. He couldn't before because of insubordination issues. However now, he can because Zidane has forgiven and moved past issues with Bale. I believe he has as well with James. If not he wouldn't even call him up. He just picks Kroos or Hazard/Bale over James and at this point you can't blame him for the later two. Kroos on the other hand needs rest.
I like reading articles from all perspectives, especially those who may have had more contact with the club than we do.
Lucas Vazquez is closing on 200 appearances for Real Madrid - he has played 191 games for the club so far scoring 22 goals and providing 44 assists, an incredible honors' list under his belt, he has a lot of memories at Madrid. I think that picture of him walking up to the spot twirling the ball on his fingers was the 2016 CL final shoot out. My jaw literally dropped watching him walk up there as the first penalty shooter looking this calm. Definitely the one thing i will remember him most for.
I remember quite fondly when I said that Morata was a mediocre player and all of you were fighting me on that. Good times.
Yes because mediocre players play for clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, etc. What happens to these players is that when they are at Madric surrounded by Modric, Kroos, James, etc., they overachieve but when they are asked to carry more of the load with a weaker support staff them they underachieve because they are tasked with doing more than they can deliver. Morata could be a starter here because the team will make up for his shortcomings but he's not the guy to be the focal point, but rather a decoy. He's the guy that keeps a defense honest if they try double teaming someone, but he's also they guy that can easily be double teamed because he can't break it down.
No lie, you did call that and also I think it was you that saw a great player in Rakitic when he was with Schalke. Respect.
My guess with the injured players returning, we might have a chance to qualify from the CL group stage. If we fail, Perez will show zidane exactly how impatient he is and sack him the next morning.
The mighty Kroos and Modrić with their epic performances. I am thrilled to see them. p.s: shit, Lucas is coming back.
Kroos have played much better in the last month. I agree modric is no upgrades at this point. Bale is a major upgrade for our attack. So is hazard. We're going to play shit and have a soft midfield, but at least we'll score.
Yes, the mighty Kroos and Modric. These other guys don't hold a candle to them. Llorente is busy warming the bench for our rivals, while Ceballos is flopping in that flop Arsenal team.
10 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses since he came back. That's 50% win rate, which is worse than Solari and Benitez.
Fair point but i think the fact that he didn't really improve the squad and that Solari also became a coach during the season is also fair. edit: Even in his first stint Zidane became a coach mid season and you could see the improvement immediately. This time? Not so much.
I don't know, but 2 of those 5 defeats and 5 victories are from this season, so I guess counting last season actually improves his record. Overall were not looking much better than the finish of last season other than spening 300 million in between.
At this point i am sure SayWhatIWant is observing matches in alternate universe where Kroos, Modrić and co. are flying on zie pitch, while reserves are shoveling manure in the stables as punishment for dropping 9 points in 9 matches already, while in CL sitting on 1 point worth last place.
Zidane seems to feel the same otherwise he wouldn't have said that players have to make use of the chances they are getting.
