And the whole thing hooked up to a standard TV. I remember those days. I had some book with programs and a crazy amount of lines of BASIC that ultimately generated a slot machine game. I spent hours putting that in, debugging it, saving it to the audiocassette and reloading it to play.
just cancelled Flo today. Very easy to cancel... but you have to go thru the DCU account manager link to find it. That link took me to the correct Flo webpage where I could find 'account settings'. Then it was just 'manage subscriptions' and cancel. Then it got suspicious. After cancelling, I received the normal support email confirming my cancellation. However, when I read the email- it states the subscription will expire 4/10/2020 (I started it 4/09/2019). A full year after starting it...that would mean my credit card would be charged on May 1st right??
I emailed customer support to ask WTF. To Flo's credit...they responded within 10min and said my account has been cancelled in full. I'm still leery. I will wait until May 1st to see what happens on my credit card.
I'm too pissed off to spend money on Flo, so I just hope for regular network broadcasts (unlikely now since we looked so toothless against the Bronx Bowsers) or just wait for highlights after the fact on mlssoccer.com together with the insightful comments from regulars on this site. Then I'll pretend I watched the match.
I gave up on FLOfc. I gave them a shot when they were free this month, but man was that product garbage. The MLS app has 20ish minute condensed matches that come online pretty soon after the games are over. I checked last night and it was online within about 45 minutes from when the game ended.
I'm canceling my Flo sub today as well. Just gonna miss those road games that aren't on national TV. Every game has been a debacle and it's just not worth the effort. I can't even stream onto my TV via chromecast. I was hopeful this thing could have worked out. They should have at least gone with ESPN+ if they were moving to streaming.
Agreed. Every Flo game has had something go wrong. My Flo game against Cbus had the whole feed go blank 3 different times in the 1st half. 2 times it rebooted itself, the third time I needed to back out of the app and re-enter. The fact I cannot Chromecast is unacceptable for a streaming service. 1st place MLS team with a shot at trophies this season... and DCU shits the bed with a TV deal that will reduce fan support instead of increasing it. Its like watching a car careening off the cliff in slow motion... you know its going to crash- but you cannot stop it from happening.
Ha-ha, my internet service just pwned me by triple posting. Guess I shouldn't talk shit about another streaming service. The androids are watching, listening and acting.
FloSports is talking to rest of MLS about obtaining local TV rights https://t.co/y7kDjz58cO pic.twitter.com/yybJKOVz2m— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) May 10, 2019 Thx, Jay!
I’m telling ya, it’s going to be the NBC/EPL model. All games not on National TV will be streamed under one roof, and no place else. Looks good in concept, but in practicality I’ll wager the league loses 90% of its audience share, just as DC United has. Your cable/sat bill keeps going up with less included content being available via stream. ESPN keeps moving more and more to + every time a new contract comes up. Someone at the majors really needs to step up and decline to pay what Disney asks next time seeing as how we’re losong tons of access, especially with the FOX merger and Disney’s OTT launch. It’s not just sports fans getting the hose any longer. Thx, Jay!
