Geez, my husband cancels our FLO PRO subscription last month and look what happens to my 10,000m ranking. https://t.co/vUMM9i2kZ5— Stephanie Bruce (@Steph_Rothstein) April 11, 2019
I hate this Flo deal, too, but really, man, you've made your point about being a TV tech dinosaur multiple times now. We get it. You don't like streaming, but streaming consumers are not all (or even mostly) 22-year-olds watching on their phones.
I signed up for the free month. I'll watch the 3 free games then cancel. Watched the Montreal debacle. Must say I'm not impressed with Flo- it was just a simple viewing experience. They were having audio issues in the 1st half, sound kept getting louder and softer. Picture quality was very good, no complaints there. But EVERYTHING else was vanilla. Nothing stood out. It was also VERY annoying that I could not Chromecast it to my TV. I was stuck watching on my IPad or laptop. Flo is frankly just a low class shitty streaming service. Period.
Except how poorly produced the stream was. They're using the MLS in-stadium feed. To that end Dave and Devon would be calling the action on the field while we would be watching a replay. Or they would be talking about the replay while you could hear the crowd reacting to what was happening on the field. It's like they have no one actually producing their feed. One would expect a "broadcaster" to provide a basic standard of production. It's night and day between the LAFC/Youtube colab, even the Fire/ESPN+ deal, and whatever Flo/DCU is bringing to the table. Thx, Jay!
I'm trying to remember the last time DCU actually had a locally produced feed that utliized "in house" production?
This is round 2 with Flo. I live out here in Woodstock Va. There was a glitch in their system when I tried to watch the April 6th match, so I asked them if I was indeed in the viewing area. They couldn’t seem to tell me , so they cancelled my account and gave me a refund. A couple days later , Flo says that I definitely am in the viewing area, so I re-subscribed . All is well out here and Tuesday’s match against Montreal looked good
I had a TI99-4A. Started writing a text game and ran out of running memory, even with the expanded memory cartridge, which doubled it from 8 to16K. The thing took minutes to load from and save to audio cassette in modem-speak. On topic, I have nothing to say except I'm glad I'm outside the viewing area, ESPN+ is totally worth it. I've seen watched all but one of DC's games on that, all of LU's games, one of the MNT friendlies and a smattering of European action. I'm looking forward to hearing what kind of package deal Disney comes out with for Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu, because if it's anywhere near the value ESPN+ is giving me, they can take my money right now.
I singed up for the free April at FLOtv but i'm going to cancel. It's just not worth it. I have season tickets so it's for the away games that are not on another network. Season tickets holders should get a bigger discount. and why do we have to pay for a full year, should be for the MLS season.
Occasionally Flo will tweet out links to United content that I see retweeted by others and when I click on them, I can watch the content on their site just fine without a log-in - so I'm not sure how their paid content is different than that - do you only pay/log-in for streaming and the rest is out there for everybody - or is there some stuff for everybody and way fancier stuff for paid members?
