I love how Chelsea winning 8-0 with Ashley Cole and Lampard playing very well is somehow a negative.

england needs to ask the USA for one of our goalkeepers....say pretty please and maybe you'll get Brad Guzan who backs up american Brad frediel and yes guzan is better than ANY of the england choices :D we will win because we have the SUPERIOR goalkeeper

You do realise that part of any goalkeepers job is to pick the ball out of the net.....and Howard and Freidal had to pick over 100 of 'em out of their respective nets this season....

Just another sign of english fans deluding themselves..as per usual.

so whats the feeling over there about Englands World Cup chances? In the past England have always been somewhat of a circus in these tournaments, turning up with a mediocre group of players, playing a stale defensive brand of football and then having the nerve of considering themselves world beaters.

I would have hoped their failure to qualify for the last major tournament along with the decline in the English player pool and general decline of the EPL this season might have humbled them but who knows. What are you expecting from this tournament?

I'm expecting USA to top Group C and for England to lose to Germany in round 2.

we can beat England. ONE CHANCE IS ALL WE NEED.

i think england will have most possession and shots but with our speed and counter attack we will get one shot on goal, score and win the game and embarass the redcoats in beating them in their own game with players they see as 'scrubs', hahaha

fox sports says rooney aggravates injury:

also barry to MISS world cup:

i have us 'yanks' beating the brits 3:0, what say you guys?

Why did he have to get carded! I'm less excited about this game now. The Humble pie is always the best bit about facing the Americans. You go on their forum after and they just hand you infraction after infraction for bringing up their posters previous overstatements.

Ah, England66, no contradiction there. We Yanks know that John Terry is a master at scoring against his own side. :D

If the US manages a tie against England, this will become dramatic. The scoring in the subsequent games against Algeria and Slovenia will become quite interesting in the race for better goal differential and a more than critical first place in the group. Having to face WC-ultra-seasoned Germany will certainly be quite different from playing Serbia.

I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself. USA could tie England and still lose to Slovenia. Afterall a similar thing happened in the last Word Cup.

Not to mention Group "D" is totally unpredictable.

True, but I see the US well organized and with that self confidence which Americans tend to persue even more than the actual physical action, in other words that "can-do" mind that helps so much to succeed with whatever you know. BTW, today I'm wearing my blue Xeneixe hat.....
