This is the 17th regular season game of the year for Houston and the 16th for Dallas. Earlier this year the teams drew up in Frisco, 0-0, on May 28. The teams will play again on August 23 back up there. Last year the Dynamo hosted FCD three times: a 5-0 league win in March, a 0-1 loss in the Open Cup in July, and a 1-3 league loss in August.

Dallas' most recent game was a road draw, 1-1, at Vancouver on June 17. That makes them 1-2-2 in their last 5 MLS games scoring 8 goals and allowing 7. So far this year FCD is 2-2-3 in road league games. Their next game after coming to Houston is hosting Colorado in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, June 28, and then they host Toronto on Saturday, July 1.

The Dynamo are 1-2-2 over the last five league games scoring 8 goals and allowing 8. Houston is 7-0-1 in home league games this year outscoring opponents 24-7.

The Dynamo next host Kansas City in a midweek Open Cup game, then travel to Colorado on Saturday, July 1, and then return home to host Montreal on Wednesday, July 5, before the Gold Cup break.

You want a prime example of the difference between the Dynamo of old and now? Loom at that loss in 2010. Players came out and apologized profusely for loosing at home to Dallas. I have a hard time seeing this iteration doin something like that. Those guys really truly cared and it showed.

I dunno about this bunch as a whole.

The guys now have the same fire, I believe. They're just also very worried about their hair, and clothes too.

    Weather forecast for Friday night.

    8:00 pm:

    85F
    70% humidity
    wind 9 mph SSE
    Partly cloudy
    Chance of rain 4%

The current forecast is calling for rain/chance of thunderstorms Thursday night into early Friday morning but things clearing quite a bit after that. It should be cloudy most of the day keeping temps lower but the humidity high.

During the game temps will stay the same but the humidity will go to about 80%. That will slightly increase the chances of a shower but it looks like it will be a dry evening.

We'll see if this forecast changes.

Goodness gracious. Even though that didn't end in a goal, that was some beautiful football by the front 3. 13:30 if you're watching at home.

Pareja went with his lightning quick midget offense. Some early scares but I expect some brawler subs up front subbed in the second half.
    Quioto looks out of shape
expect that Ellis may come in for him b/c Manotas is generating more on his side.

The "absorbing pressure without possession" technique only works when you can spring solid counterattacks and steal a goal. Dynamo had decent possession and kept Dallas off balance in first, too little possession now.
