Maybe the players can coach themselves. It’s funny, after 5 years they blame everyone but themselves for being lousy. For as much as we hear about “leadership” and “quality” on the roster, they lose all the time. You have to wonder whether outside of equality and #MeToo crap, the Dynamo might quietly want this whole endeavor to go away (although at that point I guess Canetti would owe someone $1 for his Trading Places-style bet that women’s soccer would work here)
I think you want them to go away. Certainly no one wants it more than you, and for reasons that pass understanding. There are a few quality players on the roster, a core to build with. Has been for most of our time. However, the powers that be wouldn't know a talented left back from a pastrami sandwich, nor how to execute a trade that is at least of equal value, much less in our favor. Also the powers that be seem to not understand formations nor the complicated idea of putting players in their best positions. Ultimately those failures fall on Chris' shoulders. How someone like K has remained here is crazy. I'm glad she has as she's fun to watch. It's be nice for once if Chris hired someone to run the on field side of things who knew wtf they were doing while also hiring some staff for the FO, instead of well...No one.
Westie swore they wouldn't survive past like year 2 or 3. So he's just angry that he was wrong and dying to be proven right.
Was it 2019? My memory must be fading. That wouldn't be a great bet, usually get a nice kick off the back of a World Cup. Although it does help to have players that are on your team actually be part of the USWNT.
I may have claimed an earlier year but I think I was always thinking they would have this at least through the World Cup because the US soccer would fund it for that long at a minimum
2018 NWSL Playoffs Final result: Semifinals Saturday, September 15 Portland Thorns 2-1 Seattle Reign Sunday, September 16 North Carolina Courage v. Chicago Red Stars PPD Tuesday, September 18 North Carolina Courage 2-0 Chicago Red Stars @ Portland, OR Final Saturday, September 22 North Carolina Courage 3-0 Portland Thorns @ Providence Park, Portland OR North Carolina wins the NWSL double: best regular season record and league championship. They are the first NWSL team to win the double in the six year history of the league. This is their first championship and their second consecutive NWSL Shield.
Once again, it’s only equality if we go he for she, not most qualified http://mobile.twitter.com/HalesBells99/status/1046098906260664322
Eddie doesn't believe he has the necessary experience to be head coach of the Dash so I'm pulling for them to hire Dom unless of course he pulls the Galaxy into the playoffs and is given the position permanently. Dom coaching the Dash would be a hoot.
I think the only experience necessary according to most NWSL fans is to be female. No matter what female they hire it will be celebrated as better than any male coach. Of course, the number of fans who buy tickets seems to be dwindling down to only those who buy for equality reasons, not soccer.
Both. And I’ll back the dwindling attendance claim up with numbers later. Portland and Utah draw about 50% of total league attendance. Take out Chicago’s doubleheader with the Fire and the Washington game at Audi Field and I think 6 of 9 teams were down year over year. You can argue it’s strong in 3 cities and declining in 6 others. The average is so far skewed by Portland it renders that statistic somewhat irrelevant.

Wow - she’s already turning on another NWSL franchise based on the possible gender of the head coach. Apparently owners shouldn’t hire who they want http://mobile.twitter.com/HalesBells99/status/1050159367788613633
