The more I hear about this game, the more I think that Honduras has little chance of winning. In an interview in Futbol Picante yesterday, Reynaldo Rueda expressed his worry with the fact that they will get to Mexico City the day before the game and therefore, will not have time to have a full practice in Mexico in order to get used to the altitude. This is a huge. I remember before the US team played Mexico in Azteca in 2005, they spent a couple of weeks training in Colorado at a high altitude in order to get ready for the game. Even with this, they were still running out of gas at the begging of the 2nd half. IMO, this is a huge mistake by Honduras.
We cant depend on the altittude to help us. Most of our starters will also only be there for a couple of days before the game.
Its not about depending on it or not, its a reality and it WILL affect players. Now, for Mexico, most of our players either play in the Mexican League (so they play in Mexico City regularly) or have enough experience playing at this altitude where it wont be an issue (Osorio, Pardo, Marquez, Salcido, etc.). However, even the ones that don't have much experience playing at this altitude (Vela, Nery, Giovanni), will be getting here 3 days before the match. That gives them 2 full days to practice and get readjusted. Anyone who workouts abroad and then comes to Mexico City and works out (or runs marathons and the like) will tell you that it DOES affect you a lot to begin with, however, it does not take that long to get acquainted once you are here (especially if you are an athlete).
lol well our Honduran squad has alot of things going wrong and alot of mor eimportant things to worry about then getting to Mexico City to get adjusted, i think we have players that play in harsh environments to start off, so we'll be find with an hourly work out i mean enough to get use to running, but we have problems like players and clubs and worries of injuries and whose gonna show to camp and not so believe me, we have bigger things to bite our nails about.
yea i think both honduras and mexico are having problems with players and who is goin to show up and wat not..... i think mexico has a bigger problem because almost all the squad is made up of euro players with the exception of ochoa etc......
