And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
There will always be droughts. If the Cubs win this year then the Indians will still be in a drought. If the Indians win it in a few years, then you have to worry about the Astros. By the time both the Indians and Astros win it, then the Brewers and/or Nationals' streak will probably be pushing 60-70 years (currently both at 47).
Not being able to win game 3 was killer for the Cubs. They had the winning run on base in the 9th and just choked. But it would still be Clevlannd-ish to find a way to mess this up (Or at least make it uncomfortable for their fans. before hoisting the trophy). Let's see how tonight's game goes.
Kind of hoping for Cleveland now that I've noticed about 100 million Cubs "fans" materialize out of nowhere. Saw someone the other day with a Cubs cap and a Steelers jersey. I wonder why he's not a Pirates or Bears fan....
For many, the Cubs and Red Sox would not have broken their long droughts/curses without the work of GM/President Theo Epstein. It led to a discussion between myself and a friend. We're both lifelong A's fans. (We go back to the Swingin' A's days of Reggie, Campy, Vida, Catfish, et al). We both dream that the A's could one day have such a payroll that the Cubs and BoSox are able to work with. But one of us continues the dream by wanting Epstein as GM while the other is content with Billy Beane and would like to see what he could do with a larger payroll. Big market team... small market team... Who would you prefer as your team's GM: Epstein or Beane?
You're so vigilant! Must take hours out of your day... The Steelers jersey is a display of class no matter what team you actually root for. It's like how the US flag flies above the state flag.
Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs and its fans for their first MLB World Series win since 1908 (in their first MLB World Series appearance since 1945)! Just as my San Francisco Giants finally overcame The Curse of Coogan's Bluff, the Cubs have now finally overcome The Curse of the Billy Goat. Just curious: does this long-awaited win finally absolve Steve Bartman? -G
Well that sucked, but at lest Cubs fans had to suffer one more time when they blew the lead in the 8th.
No, it doesn't. You NEVER interfere with a ball in play... period! Well, the Cubs (like the Red Sox) are just another team now. I don't know why the fans deserve any praise. They're no more "special" than the fans of any other clubs. If anyone deserves heaps of praise, it's Theo Epstein...
They didn't have to put dude's address on the news. This. Did the fans somehow care more this year than they did in 2003, or whenever else they came close? Of course not...
Especially since he wasn't the only one reaching for it. No one at all in that section was aware that the shortstop might have had a play. Not his fault he happened to be where the ball came down: could've been anyone of the people around him. He at least had an excuse to reach for the ball, since it was on the verge of almost hitting him.
What are the odds that a person happened to read my post while wearing parts of the uniforms of 2 different teams? lol #lotteryjackpot
You begged your classmates for three days to help your bitch ass come up with a reply and this is the best they could do? #yourenotoldenoughtobuyalotteryticket
You realize, old man, that when you post something on this forum, its not like a text message where the receiver must take his eyes off the road and begin working on a reply immediately, right?
