I'd have been ok with Higuain 5-6 years ago.

 

He’s old, fat, moving to a new league and with numbers trending significantly down. Unless it’s a risk free six month loan, this is a terrible move.
I hope the people who made the fairly forward thinking Pulisic move don’t then do this.

 

Closing in on Higuain or is that Icardi or is that Andre Silva? We did sign Torres in the transfer window once, I hope this is not more of the same. Higuain is over age surely? I mean isn't that the reason we are ditching Fabregas? How strict is this one year rule anyways and will it always make sense?

Agreed. It is not the move we need imho. The most important transfer market move for us is to secure Eden Hazard and that means paying him vast sums of money, but also bringing in players for him to play with.

fwiw, he's on a weird loan to milan now. something like an 18M loan with an option to buy this summer for 60M. i'm not sure on the option amount. after watching him for the first half of the season, i'd rather see cutrone every week at this point.

It's been reported that there are a lot of teams after Morata.

AC Milan, Sevilla, Munich, Atletico, and a couple more. It will cost about a million per month to bring him on board, so there aren't too many places he can go.

 

Damn didn't realize he was at such a salary.

I think it’s one of those things where teams think, “Sure, he’s struggling but he just needs a change of scenery. We know just how to make him successful. It’ll be different here.”

I know everyone is down on Higuain, but if the option is stand pat or Higuain, I’d rather have Higuain. It’d likely be a short term solution, and if Arsenal make a run and MU figure themselves out, we may struggle to hold onto fourth. Declining goals are still goals.

Of course, if there are other options out there, let’s get them.
