Stoppage time and James still gliding around the pitch. Looks like he’s in the best shape of his career.
Many Polish, including many politicians can't stand Russia. Polish were among the most virulent when it came to sanction Russia in 2014 onwards. They fear Russia so much that they also asked many times for more NATO members on their ground. To which Russia counter attacked them when they blocked importation of polish goods, mainly fruits. Russia accused them to use dangerous pesticides on them. Polish said it was false, but it did cost them 1 billion euros, since Russia is a big market. It can be seen as normal that not many Polish would want to travel to Russia even nowadays.
The more games I watch , the more it becomes clear there is just not a single player who would walk in our starting 11 that we don't have allready.
James, what a player, he's matured a lot since when he was here. Great performance by Colombia, congrats @J-Mezzy
Senegal vs Colombia is going to be great. Depending on what Japan does against a disilusioned Poland team, neither of them are allowed to lose.
That was the best scenario for Japan. Even if they lose, they can still qualify if senegal lose too. A draw is a very good result against Poland too. Japanese people were cheering for Colombia on twitter during the whole game.
Who would have thought seeing this group, that Japan would have the best papers to advance on the final day.
Doesn't Colombia go through with a draw + a Japan loss? But yeah I agree Colombia will probably need to win.
Just to say, this term is seen as offensive by many Japanese, and even more by Americans with japanese origins. Just saying.
Yep. Japan go out with these scenarios: 1) Japan lose, Colombia vs Senegal draw 2) Japan lose, Colombia wins, and the goal differential with Senegal is worse So win and draw, they qualify. They can still qualify even when losing under certain circumstances.
They don't anymore. At first I thought that was bullshit, but now I think it actually leaves more chances for everybody untill the final day. Just score more. Instead of already knowing you can't qualify with the same points because you didn't win an earlier game.
They do, but only if the normal goals difference can't decide between them. I don't remember if it comes after Fair Play scoring though. FIFA posted these as a reply to somebody on twitter when WC started. There is like 5 stages to decide between if needed before tossing a coin in last resort.
1. Greatest number of points 2. Goal difference in all group matches 3. Goals scored in all group matches If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings shall be determined as follows: 4. Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned 5. Goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned 6. Greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned 7. Greater number of points obtained regarding fair play conduct (yellow cards = -1, indirect red card (as a result of a second yellow card) = -3, direct red card = -4, yellow card and direct red = -5, with only one of the deductions applied to a player in a single game) 8.
