"Businessman Peter Ramsaroop has started exploratory work that will lead to the creation of a professional football team and league in Guyana."

It would help the development of soccer in Guyana as the players would be able to train more often. We shall see if it actually happens though...

In other news, Guyana is supposed to play away at Barbados on Feb 5th.

FIFA is also on Puerto Rico to get a professional league going as well. Right now there are only semi-pro leagues.

Something similar to Jamaica or T&T.

That's what I was trying to say.

T&T and Jamaica have professional leagues. PR has only semi-professional leagues. FIFA wants for PR to try to get to be like Jamaica and T&T. :)

    Sorry for the confusion...

I think there needs to be a caribbean super league something like the Royal League of the Nordic region. the Royal league is made of several top teams from Denmark, Norway, Sweden. It could only help.

Who else have pro leagues in the Caribbean? I think Surinam do.
