This group is about group E of the 2018 World Cup Qualifier (second round) in Asia. Japan, Syria, Afghanistan, Singapore and Cambodia are in Group E.

Both Afghanistan and Syria are currently in Mashad of Iran for the Thursday encounter. Samen Stadium looks a little bit bumpy with extra grass. Hope the grass is cut and some areas of the field is leveled.

    Afghanistan prepared for Syria game

    2-0 Laos
    1-1 Bangladesh

Syria also preparing for game against Afghanistan with

    1-0 Jordan
    3-2 Tajikistan
    2-2 Lebanon
    2-1 Oman

Undefeated and have done well against good opposition.

Anyone know of Singapore and Cambodia prep?

And your predictions for today's matches?

    My prediction:
    Cambodia 1 - 2 Singapore
    Afghanistan 1 -1 Syria

Also for the friendly between Japan and Iraq, it should be like 3-1.

People in the prediction thread are being too pessimistic about Afghanistan. We got a mostly European-based squad filled with players who rely on skill and who can score from outside the box, backed by a 30k strong crowd.

    Afghanistan 2-0 Syria

It is an 11,000 crowd by the way. Only 11,000 are allowed, since the stadium does not meet the FIFA criteria.

Considering how shaky our defence has been the midfield and attack need to be on their A game.
    Prediction
    Afghanistan 2-1 Syria.

Iv never seen Singapore or Cambodia play before but judging by the fact Cambodia has had some decent results at home vs Myanmar and Laos im gonna go with a shock 1-1 draw.

Agreed, it seems like everyone's lost hope after that draw vs Bangladesh. Considering the conditions of the pitch and the fact that Slaven did a bit of rotating that result does not mean anything to me.

the reporter is unprofessional and the data he is giving is based on his estimates which still his math is awful. He can not take 30% off of an easy number. I guess he has failed his elementary math. Samen has 35000 capacity. let say take 5000 out for whatever reason then we have 30000 even if you take 30% off for the reason that he is not even sure then you have 21000 capacity not 11000.

Hope you guys come in numbers and give a laud support to your team. It doesn't matter 10k or 30k if you make noise you will effect the opponent team. Just like the same effect our fans had in Australia. Btw the seats number and those rules are not met seriously in Asia or Africa most of the times. Azadi capacity is 86k but we have records as high as 128k attendance. Even recent Persepolis matches against Saudi or Qatari clubs in ACL were around 100k which is above 86k seats capacity. No body told them a thing.

There is only one thing that I am concerned with and it is when fans get angry and start breaking seats and making fire in stadium for that reason alone there might be some mass control principles here. In last season, we experienced a chaos in our last match of Premiere league in Tabriz that pissed off fans broke some seats since their club didn't won the championship title by one point, so the securities are on alert now.

Hopefully he can. Otherwise it is absurd as I said there are many countries that does not follow that rule in Africa, South America, Middle East and South Asia. India is a prime example of this fact.
