Gringo's Wall of Shame: Get used to it Gringos VOL. XI

Discussion in 'Mexico National Team' started by sidspaceman, Jun 27, 2014.

  1. You must be out of your mind if you are comparing Pullisic to Messi and Ronaldo.

But I guess if Adu was the next Pele.... sure, Pullisic is on a Messi/Ronaldo level.

    LOL ...

I am not denying he doesn't put up numbers but he only tends to so that against weaker opponents. He has yet to show up against the tougher CONCACAF teams and stronger teams for that matter. Sure he put up insane stats against other teams in the Hex but he was a no show against Mexico and Costa Rica on both legs. Also, he didn't exactly shine away from home.

One the criticisms of Jozy Altidore , even though he is the third top scorer for the USMNT, is that he only really scores against weaker teams and his goals against top opponents are few and far between. So far this applies to Pulisic for the moment.

i've lost hope in altidore - i thought he was going to have a much better career than he has. his mentality is a weakness, imo.

as far as pulisic, individual success often comes down to the entire team system - we will see if the next USMNT coach can finally be a competent one and make a good strategy for the entire team to do well - but I'm not so confident of that either.

but i am confident that pulisic has what it takes to be successful at any level...i've watched him closely for several years now.....if the us fails again with pulisic it wont be because of him.

Pulisic is pretty good but comparing stats up to age 19 vs Messi and CR is useless and kind of misleading. At 20 Messi already looked like a different player. And not even the best current 19 year old in the world (by far) looked as good as CR did at that age. Let alone Pulisic.

How’d you guys do in the World Cup again? “#1 sport” rhetoric, here comes the “if the US used their best athletes we’d dominate the sport” excuse.

    you like that???

I'm sure you would think it is fun and games too if you had the rights to a player who is currently valued at 50 million dollars and could possibly be sold for more......

but then again Im sure BVB doesn't think the potential of that kind of $$$$$ is a laughing matter......
