My entire adult life has been spent basically working to extend and deepen the reach of literacy in America. Futility, thy (screen) name is Wankler.
Seems Browback might forge ahead with his plans (with some of the Rachel Maddow bias) So, are they ever going to release the new Laffer curve they seem to be following. They seem to idolize what Reagan did and use it as a way to justify their actions.
Has nobody else noticed that the GOP House was unable to pass its first major initiative of the year? http://news.yahoo.com/u-house-fails-approve-bill-diluting-dodd-frank-204253008--sector.html Wasn't their New Year's Resolution to be the party that can govern?
Serious question, how many of their constituents would say that this bill is necessary. They are too busy trying to beat Obama at something.
This isn't a failure yet, but surely will be. George Will put together a list of questions that should be asked of the nominee for Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, during her confirmation hearing. One example: The U.S. incarceration rate is nearly five times Wales and England’s, nine times Germany’s, 14 times Japan’s. In 2010, more than 200,000 inmates — approximately the nation’s total number of prisoners in 1970 — were over the age of 50. How can this be necessary? The list of questions is here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...774-11e4-aabd-d0b93ff613d5_story.html?hpid=z5
I'm wondering what the ratios are for FEDERAL prisoners...because the attorney general doesn't really control what the states due. Federalism FTW.
No? You mean policies on the Drug War, mandatory minimums and other things that the feds flow down under pain of yanking funding has no effect?
