It was cool to meet all the Richmond peeps that I otherwise wouldn't have met if it wasn't for United...Doug, Scott, Brian, Richard, Pittman, other dude etc...The first year of the Richmond contingent was small but it was something. Let's spend the off season recruiting and adding names to the email list. If you meet anyone that's remotely interested in soccer or DC United, ask them for their email address, tell them about us and the carpools, viewing parties etc.. Let's make it so we need a van for every game next year! VAMOS UNITED!!!
The Richmond crew kicked ass this year and we'll do even better next year. I am going to work this off-season in getting us some items that will help spread the word. One item is some business cards we can give out http://www.moo.com/products/minicards.php could be very cool if we get permission for some to the pictures on Barra. Right now I think we just have an email list. We should change that to a Yahoo group or something similar make it easier for us to manage. I also want to look into getting some large magnets with Barra logo and Richmond. Other ideas are stewing around in my head. All that being said thanks to everyone that has been part of the Richmond crew. Let's keep in touch and organize a group to go see a hockey game this winter. At this point I am still going up to MLS Cup so one last chance for that beautiful drive but more importantly one more chance to enjoy standing with friends in a crappy ass parking lot drinking a few beers. UNITED TIL I DIE
It was great meeting everyone. Had a lot of fun. We should get some stuff going during the off-season. I can't wait to officially join the Barra.
I agree with the business cards idea for sure. Maybe put up a flyer or 2 at the local soccer shops. I've never had luck working with Yahoo, just dont' like it, the email list is simple, easy and i've been doing the bcc thing so it doesnt show all the email addresses. word Pedro
Agree with the sentiments above about this season. Good times had by all. Strictly Soccer would put up a flyer for a viewing party in a heartbeat. Guy that works there, Dennis, is an ex-DCU ticket guy. I've already been to two Renegades game in the last week so I'm sure I'll already be there. Let me know if you're ever coming out for a game. I'll be at MLS Cup but I think I'm going to go up on Saturday and come back Sunday night via train. Look forward to carrying this craziness on next season. VAMOS UNITED
Hey everyone, lets get things started this off season. Great idea for the flyer. We could recruit through email or maybe we could advertise too. For business cards, Moo is an option, but I’d rather try Print Peppermint. Their products are top quality at a low price.
