18 year old USYNT player Jonathan Gonzalez (#25) gets the start for CF Monterrey tonight. It's on UNIMAS for those who have it.
He has had some nice plays where he has collected the ball in the middle and distributed/kept it well under pressure.
I only get Unimas in low def, so I can't really pick him out reliably. I think the announcers have praised him a couple times.
Neri Cardozo is the other CM #19 and Gonzalez seems to defer to him a lot in the middle (which is to be expected).
Seems happy to win the ball and distribute. He has been winning possession deep and distributing to wingers/Cardozo... does not look to push it forward himself too much. He has been smooth in his passing and possession under pressure. '33
Monterrey get a PK off an attempted shot deflected by Toluca defenders arm as he tried to block the shot. Monterrey converts and it is 1-0 in the '40.
