Garner > Szobo in every facet of football except long range shooting. Szobo couldn't make it as a No. 8 in England, anyways. He lacks any tackling ability.
Interesting write-up on Lee O'Connor, proposing him as a possible solution to our RB issue (looks like he can play LB too as good both feet and has been a CB at youth level). https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united-news-lee-oconnor-16093825
Gomes is bossing the game for the 23s. They are up 3-0 in the 70th over a good Newcastle side. We need to find Gomes a loan to a midtable La Liga side with the idea of letting him develop over two seasons. Because the difficulties he will have to overcome with his size, he would really benefit from getting first team minutes in a less physical league. He's just beyond the 23s as far as his ability and intelligence are concerned.
Great to see the U23s back on the winning side (first in 6 games, I believe). Greenwood and Burkhart both with a brace (Greenwood scored an absolutely superb freekick btw). That's 24 in 26 games this season for him: unreal tally. Gomes, Chong were very good but O'Connor was really impressive also.
Highlights of Greenwood's game today. Worth it for the freekick alone, but his overall game is just incredible.
Can't stop: that's #25 and 26 for Greenwood this season at youth level. #MUAcademy Under-18s: FT – Derby County 1 #MUFC 2A Mason Greenwood double helped our Under-18s overturn an early deficit to defeat league leaders Derby County 2-1 at the Rams' training centre. pic.twitter.com/PAbytE6lQL— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 20, 2019
It's a real pity he played today. Was really hoping to see him on the bench tomorrow. With the current state of our attack, coupled with him still showing great form with the youth teams, it's a no brainer for me. Tuanzebe has been superb for Villa since his return from injury, back in central defense, partnering Tyrone Mings. His game yesterday by the numbers vs Bolton 90% pass accuracy 5/6 aerial duels won 4/5 long balls completed 3 ball recoveries 3 clearances 0 goals conceded Whether we bring him back next season can be up for debate (depending on what we do business wise this summer). But based on how he's performed on his loan stint this season, it would be stupid for us to consider selling him. He's legit and definitely someone we need to keep close.
Greenwood has opened the score for the U23s vs Wolves. The guy simply can not stop scoring. Granted, it's a youth level but when our attack in the senior team is struggling the way it is, you have to think he could provide the team with something. His confidence must be thru the roof right now and on that basis alone, I'd draft him into the senior squad. @TahithC ➡ @agomes_47 ➡ @_MasonGreenwood. What a goal. pic.twitter.com/lInV3MsOtm— MJ (@utd_mark) April 26, 2019 Ole is in the stands, watching. Probably too close to select him for Sunday's game but our final 2 games of the season vs Huddersfield and Cardiff could be great for him to figure in at some point. Gomes with a Panenka style pk, makes it 2-0 for United.
The U23s started very strong, were playing so well and were in complete control of this game, yet they've lost it in just 10mins. Credit to Wolves for not giving up but this is disappointing still. We're in stoppage time, with Wolves leading 3-2. That's it, game over and United have let a 2 goal lead slip. Greenwood came close to getting the equalizer but his effort was saved on the line.
We would have two united keepers in the prem if Dean Henderson is allowed to go back to Sheffield United on loan again next season. Apparently we are in discussions with him about a long-term contract (runs out next year I think). Have to sign this guy up longer term - especially with the DDG situation. He looks a real prospect. Lee O'Connor reportedly also called up to the first-team squad so may feature before end of season. https://www.the42.ie/lee-oconnor-contention-united-debut-huddersfield-4617461-May2019/
Ole confirmed an injury for Greenwood has kept him out against Huddersfield and is hopeful he will be able to play against Cardiff.

Not only Greenwood was spotted training with the first team, but so were Gomes, Chong, Garner, Puigmal and Levitt. Curious as to who will make the cut this weekend.
According to a bola in sports witness angel Gomes want to leave because Ole was not going to give him a chance. The report claims only says angel Gomez is not physically ready. There goes our own possible Jadon Sancho. The usual suspects in this forum will come and agree with Ole. But i cant. We just watched City destroy the EPL with David Silva, Bernardo Silva and (down the stretch) Gundogan played the 6. City have no element of physicality in their game and they are arguably the best team in EPL history.
I'm definitely of the camp that Gomes is a talent we can not just summarily lose or ditch aside. Whether his future is guaranteed with us remains to be seen. That being said, I think the best option for him at this time is to send him out on loan (not necessarily in England, but La Liga, Bundesliga, France even?) to a club where he will have a real chance to play and therefore develop and grow. Depending on who we bring in this summer especially, not sure that keeping him here (even if he's promoted to the first team) would be the best thing for him. But he's definitely a player who is past playing at youth level at this point. He's not the only one btw. http://sportwitness.co.uk/angel-gomes-verge-leaving-man-united-sees-psg-offer-seriously/
