How United's U18 team went from bottom to top of the table in just 2yrs. www.therepublikofmancunia.com/united-u-18-from-bottom-to-top-of-the-table-in-two-years/ The hiring of McKenna really looks to have been a stroke of genius on Butt's part. His teams are fun to watch and the job he's done with the players since he arrived, looks extremely solid in truly getting them ready for the next level.
United have signed another hot prospect for the Academy today. 17yr old Czech Republic goalkeeper Mateo Kovar.

U18s: FT - #MUFC 6 Derby 3. An entertaining victory for Kieran McKenna's side thanks to goals from Jimmy Garner, Mason Greenwood (2), Nishan Burkart (2) and a Minkley own goal.— Manchester United (@ManUtd) February 3, 2018
Chong is starting again for the U23s vs Derby (no Gomes today but Traore is on the bench). 20mins in and he's already made an electric start, once again being United's most dangerous player so far. He won a Pk, which Redmond put away and United are in the lead.
FT: 1-1, despite Derby playing the last 15mins with 10 men. Chong was easily the MotM for United. Great start of his U23 career so far.
Gomes needs to step up. He has taken a role where he is very mellow, playing slow, he needs to play with a bit more bite and directness and quickness.

A look at Axel Tuanzebe's Villa debut. www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/axel-tuanzebe-manchester-united-villa-14242990
United's U19s won today 0-2 vs Brodarac to secure their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League. Boonen opened the score, while the second was an OG. It was a physical scrap though with Brodarac being very physical and even borderline dirty at times. Their favorite target was Gomes, but instead of shrinking after being kicked, hacked at constantly, it only spurred him on and he was superb. Great to see him stand up that way to the challenge. Upfront Boonen was great once again as well. The defense also deserves praise: led by Williams, he and O'Connor (who is turning out to be also as someone to watch) were great dealing with everything thrown at them. A gutsy performance.
We have a few prospects at this club and with Gomes and a few others coming along that just transferred in, we have Mason Greenwood, and now it looks like Anthony Elanga is the next thing to keep watch on. 15 years old, plays any position across the front, played today with the U20's against Rangers scoring two goals.
Demi Mitchell on his current loan spell and his hopes for the future at United. www.espn.co.uk/football/club/manchester-united/360/blog/post/3383516/man-utd-youngster-demetri-mitchell-talks-united-loan-spell-at-hearts-and-future-dreams Very nice to see Mitchell doing so well (even if it's SPL). Another kid who does not seem to be lacking in confidence in himself (and that is always great to see). He might need another loan stint in England this time, but I'd still hope he can get a good look in preseason. Perhaps he can surprise and force his way into the squad next season.
If this man’s performance was anything to go by today, we’re in for a strong season run-in.Great support in the capital. Roll on Tuesday! 👏#AVFC #UTV pic.twitter.com/THNofcoEb3— Aston Villa (@AVFCOfficial) February 17, 2018 So glad he has been good in appearances thus far and not here rotting away on our bench
Looks like Axel had a real strong showing for Villa yesterday. Happy for the lad. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...s/axel-tuanzebe-watch-how-manchester-14304266
