One has to wonder at some point if he is even really injured or just overreacting due to his history with injuries

He already leads Isco, Asensio and bezema on every playmaker stat this season so far in both CL and League.

I am glad James is doing well but he doesn't fit our team. We are struggling quite badly this season and the only one of our former players we miss right now is Morata. We aren't struggling because we aren't creating chances, we are creating plenty but our forwards just can't score. Very unfortunate that Ronaldo is struggling but Benzema was a given

I never bought into that - when he was given the opportunity he delivered. He didn't fit only because other players were giving priority.. including Lucas & Bale who are not really contributing this season.

Yeah I was always for Bale departure and James' stay. Moronic to leave James out of the squad for freaking Bale.

In some games imo the hustle of Lucas works to seal the win, but playing Bale instead of James in some (important) games was just moronic. Zidane needs to grow some balls and drop players who fail him. Cant give them the trust if they keep ********ing you over, (BENZEMA KUCH KUCH, BALE KUCH KUCH)

This is what I was also thinking because what we're seeing lately can't actually be happening. It's as if he feels some pain as soon as he sees the grass and by the time he walks on to the pitch, he's injured again. He's mentally fcked, that's for sure.

And for a reason. Lucas was very dependable last season. James was predictable both on the right and the left of the attack and we haemorrhaged goals when he played at CM. He just didn't fit. Bayern seems to be a better fit for him

Most players look worse this season because the team is basically doing what it wants. Ramos is playing like a box to box centerback, Marcelo is playmaking fullback with no defensive responsibilities, Ronaldo is a set piece specialist with zero product, Isco drops deeper than Casemiro and then is up further than Ronaldo and so on. Zidane had done wonderful things but there are diminishing returns with letting players express themselves, he really needs to give the team more structure at this point or risk losing his job.

If a series of hopeless crosses every game is what you call creating chances then, sure.

Ronaldo and Benzema missed a chance each at the away match in Bilbao that was harder to miss than to score.

The crosses to ronaldo were mostly half chances. He only made them look better than they were because of how good he is in the air. I know you mentioned the Marcelo cross in another thread but that would’ve been hard for any player to pull off. The only clear chances were Benzema’s post hit.

He was unmarked, the cross is low and sharp, he's looking directly at the goal. That's a 7/10 chance right there.

His biggest chance was where Isco makes a touch and he had the ball on the right side of the goal and managed to hit the side net from the cheapest angle ever.

Zidane would chose anybody over James, their problems went beyond football. Which is why i'm always saying that if James had a different attitude he would have made a big difference under Zidane.

Here's to hoping that he stays injury free. Or at least relatively injury free.
He's a MUCH better option than Benzema for the 4-4-2. It's also been like 235 days since the BBC last played together so we might as well see that.

I also have a theory that Bale has a good/great season followed by a 1bad/mediocre(or shit) season:

2013/14: 15 goals and 12 assists in La Liga, 6 goals and 4 assists in UCL.
2014/15: His season with the least injuries. He was really frustrating that season and I was screaming for Isco or Jese to replace him. Especially in the UCL.
2015/16 : 19 goals and 10 assists in La Liga in just 1741 mins.
2016/17: Tragic season, forever injured. Scored 9 goals in La Liga + UCL combined.

Come on , Gaz. This is your season. Let's say that you had prolonged holidays. Time to fire up those engines.

Every time I see an update on Bale's thread my heart skips a bit and I hold my breath as I enter.

Thank god he isn't injured for 2 months again. Good goal to put us through to the CWC final. *Fingers Crossed*

I wouldn't be too worried he's a CWC specialist, three goals in three games. He might not last 15 minutes against Barca though. I'll be looking for him to put his stamp on some super cup games next summer.

I think after the xmas break he has to become a starter in this team in place of Benzema. Zidane has to do something.

He can play in the front two with Ronaldo if it's 442 and he can play on the left in a 433 with Ronaldo as a striker.

Not gonna happen. Flodane will say the 4-4-2 experiment failed and that the BBC is the only way forward. That will buy them time until at least the summer.

I can also predict that they will put in at least a couple of legit performances which might be enough to "blind" the Flodane once again and we might rinse and repeat a year from now.
