I'd posted about him in the Detective Work thread, then didn't notice that he'd left HSV's second team until @Ger90 noted it there. However, I seem to have been first to catch this tidbit about his new team and apparent confirmation that he's a Yank so I'll claim thread-starting privileges: Es war bereits nach 18 Uhr am Mittwoch, als die Halberstädter Vereinsoberen nach Rolf Sattorov und Pepic einen dritten Neuen verpflichteten. The upshot of that story is that he's moved to Germania Halberstedt in [EDITED/CORRECTED] the fourth division. The club's site links to FuPa, which notes the move: https://www.fupa.net/spieler/gillian-jurcher-540239.html He's a German-born '97 who had also spent time in the academy of St. Pauli, girl. T'Markt mentions some German YNT involvement at the U18 level. https://www.transfermarkt.com/gillian-jurcher/profil/spieler/231587 Here's a nice goal: Detective Work post: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...ive-work-thread.1987805/page-27#post-36221596
seems to be a 4th division team that are unlikely to get promoted. Hamburg II on the other hand are in contention for 3rd Liga playoff spot. but the move makes sense as he only played 2 games all season, so he went for a downgrade and likely to spend some time in 4th unless he really impresses.
Thanks -- I edited the OP since it was still available to do so. That's what I get for skimming Wikipedia instead of checking an actual table/schedule.
looking at wiki, it's written 2015-2016 season, so yeah not up to date. You should always read things properly and be thorough.
$0 isn't enough. as a 97, soon to be 21, seems like the only thing he would be eligible for the US would be the 2020 Olympics, assuming you guys make it. Even then he needs to establish himself at a higher level to be even considered. I think his chances are low for US youth level. Seniors seems like his best shot if at all.
Gillian Scored Halberstadt's 4th Goal in a 0 - 4 romp over Viktoria 1889 Berlin in Regionalliga Nordost
went from being ignored at Hamburg II to seemingly being effective at his new club. since moving 6 goals and 3 assists in 14 games Already the 3rd most provider at his current club in 4th division, looks like his contract expires in the Summer, could potentially go higher.
so he went from a 4th division team to another 4th division team. seems like he joined Saarbrucken who lost in the 3rd Liga promotion playoffs to 1860 Munich. Der 1. FCS gewinnt das erste Vorbereitungsspiel bei der Sportvereinigung Quierschied mit 4:1. Nach der Pause waren Gillian Jurcher und Markus Mendler für die Lottner-Elf erfolgreich.— 1. Gillian went 66 minutes as Saarbrucken thumped VfR Wormatia Worms 4 - 1 in Germany Regionalliga Sudwest Saarbrucken up to 5th place
seems to be at 5 goals and 3 assists in 15 games looks like he had a goal and 2 assists in a 5-0 win vs Hoff II yesterday. as Saarbrucken are currently in 3rd place in RL Sudwest, still in the promotion fight. Although wonder if he'll follow the Costly route and move to a 3rd Liga team. Although Costly took the quick route and joined a club that was headed towards 2BL promotion.
Goal: Check out Gillian Jurcher's SCREAMER in Saarbrücken's 5-0 route of Hoffenheim II this weekend. Maybe a handball. Maybe not. A screamer none-the-less!The win keeps his club 3rd on the Regionalliga Südwest table, just 5 points off the lead.#USMNT pic.twitter.com/YMGFH4fYz5— Sams Mini Army (@samsminiarmy) November 5, 2018
had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 vs Stuttgart II. now at 7 goals and 5 assists in 19 game. believe he's already in top 10 in RL Sudwest top scorers.
now at 9 goals and 6 assists in 23 games. Assist wise no update from today's 5-0 win in which he scored once. Saarbrucken might not get 3rd Liga promotion but Jurcher is doing well enough that he could move up if there is interest. In Dec he was in top 10 in RL Sudwest scoring table, now he's in top 5....
is being linked with 2BL Sandhausen same club for 2 other German-Americans in Gipson and Wooten and the club Wright went on loan last season.
