Have you ever seen a better looking MLS jersey?

Aero over on the local boards posted that he bought this tonight at Soccer Connection here in Ogden. They should be available everywhere soon I would guess.

Who is that funny looking guy? ;) Luckily the jersey more than makes up for the poor model. :D

Heck, it looks like the Spanish National team Jersey worn back in 1998 (I've got one).

Not bad, but why the orange stripes rather than white or yellow (gold)?

Is that an authentic jersey or a replica jersey (there is a difference, particularly in price ;) )?

And wasn't this the logo to be used on the jersey?

It's an authentic one. It has all the patches on it and everything.

No, the patch on the jersey has "real" in big letters in it.

That's a nice jersey. The "real salt lake" in the front looks a little goofy but whatever.

Maybe the logo will be on the road jersey. Any idea which corporate sponsor's name will appear on the shirt?

Its not the "authenic" unless it has the sponsor panels. Now of course if RSL jerseys dont have sponsor panels (i.e. NY & DC) than its a moot point.

Great looking jersey. Im sure Adidas will do the league proud.

Hell we've been in the league since day one and we dont have our new jerseys yet.

It better be authentic. I paid enough for it. I want a refund if it isn't, especially after being told that it was.

I just checked the tags that came on it and they say that it is an "officially licensed product," but I guess that doesn't necesarily mean that it is an authentic jersey, does it?

Its a real (pun intended) Adidas RSL jersey no doubt about it. But it may not be the same one the players will wear. They will look the same but the only difference will be the sponsor panels. There are replica and authenics both are made by Adidas. I have a Burn replica and a Burn game worn and the shade of red is a little different and the game worn has the sponsor panels. Of course those were made by Atlectica. I dont know how Adidas does that sort of thing.

I didnt mean to imply your jersey wasnt legit. Im jealous, Ive been waiting for a FC Dallas jersey for 6 months.

The badge saying 'Real' and the front of the jersey saying 'Real' also makes it a little redunant but whatever. It still looks hella nice.

Just to give an example o the 2004 Nike Metrostars jersey - authentic vs replica

the replica version has a much tighter fit, and the mesh panels all over the shirt were a bit thicker.

the authentic version had a more normal fit, and the mesh panels were sheer/see thru.

So when can I get a hold of the blue or white one that says Salt Lake on the front?

The new jerseys aren't being shown until March 12th. Here's a link:
    http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/MLS/rsl/community/

The last paragraph on the page says the foloowing:
    "Real Salt Lake Jersey Unveiling
Be the first to see the new Real Salt Lake jersey, the same ones the players will be wearing on the field during the club's inaugural season, on March 12th in Park City. Real Salt Lake will be joined by adidas to show to the world the colors of MLS' newest team! More details are coming soon.

So if the MLS isn't unveiling the jersey until March 12th, how is that they're being sold now? Did the first shipment of knock-offs come out before the real thing?

    Bingo, somebody got it.

I wonder if RSL is going to be the Spain of MLS, in that they never win anything?

    Not necessarily.

I'm not sure how Adidas will do it, but neither the authentic nor the replica Nike Earthquakes jerseys had the sponsor panels on them unless you ordered them put on.
