Shutout 5/17 vs. RoPS: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/k...en-palloseura/index/spielbericht_2315964.html
Giigke Translate: "AFL-Cameroonian center-back Etchu Tabe, 27, is ready for play for EIF's football team in the Men's Division 2. Last year he played for Team KuPS Kuopio in domestic football league. EIF manager Peter Haglund says Tabe and EIF has a contract for season 2014. The contract includes an option for both. - If we are in August sees that we do not have a chance to go up in August, we have the right to terminate the contract and if he gets a contract at a club at a higher level, he may go there, says Haglund." http://svenska.yle.fi/artikel/2014/04/26/tabe-forstarker-eif-sid-med-i-premiaren @bungadiri - Gesundheit! Etchu Tabe at Ekenas IF
Etchu Tabe (pictured right) says racial insults hurled by football spectators in Finland is common | Photo: Facebook The black players from the third tier club Ekenäs IF have spoken out against racism in Finnish football The Baltic Review 12/07/2014 http://baltic-review.com/2014/07/th...poken-out-against-racism-in-finnish-football/
Kind of odd how his career tumbled. He is playing amateur ball while his first club Ljundskile is in 2nd place in Sweden's 2 (tied with Hammarby on points, one goal worse GD).
Etchu's team won promotion to Finnish second division. Yay. http://us.soccerway.com/national/finland/kakkonen/2014/lohko-etela/r24483/
Never thought I see the day when one of my good friends who while talented is near the same level as Freddy Adu. This makes me kinda sad. I got love for Etchu, we played FIFA together and he's my boy but wow.
Tabe hasn't played since mid-July, when he was sent off after being booked twice. This article claims he has a long-term injury.
Tabe won't return to Ekenas, after he and the club couldn't agree on a contract. http://svenska.yle.fi/artikel/2016/01/15/etchu-tabe-och-eif-gar-skilda-vagar
What's the negotiation like at the Finnish second level when the top leagues averages $25K/Y? "Well, Etchu. We're offering you minimum wage but you also have to clean club's bathrooms on your off days." "No, not the bathrooms. I'll wax the floors for you, do a little vacuuming, but that bathroom is nasty" "Sorry, but it's a take it or leave it offer. As in, take this broom or else" "I prefer else"
On April 29, Etchu started his first game for "Haka", in second place in the Finnish second division. And scored a goal. http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...-jazz/football-club-haka-valkeakoski/2189060/
Maybe you can convence you boy to come back to America the NASL or the USL have got to be better then a second or third div team in Scandinavia.
For the record, the club's roster for 2016, which has Etchu on it... 23 Tabe Etchu 12.07.1986 http://fchaka.fi/?page_id=25 He's been journeymanning around Europe for almost a decade. That's pretty unusual. First mention in Dec. 2007! http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/etchu-tabe-on-trial-at-sparta-rotterdam.635976/
Tabe has returned to Ekenäs for the 2017 season. Google Translate is a bit dicey, but this article may be saying that they are trying him at forward. https://svenska.yle.fi/artikel/2017/02/04/ekenas-if-besegrade-pallo-iirot-i-fotbollscupen
Good to see Etchu still being a pro. Cool guy, he used to come and get that work from me in FIFA in college as well as Live and 2k. Great guy, I am proud of him. He's been at it as a pro since 2009. Most guys I grew up with or when to college with stopped playing paid sports at this time. My boy Calvin Johnson retired from the NFL last year. Etchu is the last one remaining around my age. The pay is low from what he said, he actually tried out for a MLS team many years back and was the radar for the Nats and Cameroon. I don't know if anything came of it. I haven't asked nor have I spoken to him in awhile.
He told me one of the teams contract offers in the past. They offer like 35k but pay for room and board as well as a car and per diem. The higher the league, the better the perks at times but it's all about who wants you from what he said.
Sounds like it's working out for all parties: USA Woooh! Etchu Tabe make it a brace - scoring EIK's 2nd & 3rd goals as they are beating TPS 0 - 3 now (85')— AccrossthePond (@accrossthepond) March 3, 2017
