Twente look like a very poor team. If Schalke get eliminated by them, it will be a huge embarrassment really. It is true Schalke are not in a good form and their defense is poor all season and Huntelaar is injured but they should go through.
Hannover lost to Liege in the group stages but they have really big chances to eliminate them now. I think they will do it.

Well, de Jong stumbled over his own feet outside of the penalty area. What sees the referee? Foul plus red card plus penalty!

Unbelievable. Remind me again why are there 1000 of assistant referees in EL, if they don't see shit?

Neither are looking good right now.

In other news Man City lost which is pretty surprising and Athletic is giving Man u a good game as well.

I can't believe Athletic Bilbao beat Man Utd away. Major congratulations to them.

I have a lot of respect for this club. They exclusively use only locally developed players, and still manage to do things like this in a modern world where buying your way to the top is the way.

Udinese just lost to the another Dutch team, AZ Alkmaar, as well. Hannover tied 2-2 away. It seems the gap between the two countries' coefficients will remain about the same as it was before the season began.

Overall, it has been a very strange season in Europe competitions.

    I agree.

To many EPL teams are rebuilding leading to their dip in European performance while other clubs are gaining huge ground.

Cue in Athletico Madrid, Benfica, PSG, and Malaga to start stealing points from the perennial European clubs.

It would be astounding to see quarterfinals with no English clubs in either competition, but that is the situation they find themselves in.

Not sure that's a good thing. Borussia D and Borussia M will likely both be in the lowest pot when it comes to seeding for the CL group-stage draw (and qualifying draw, if applicable). Leverkusen would have a better seed.

 They subbed-out Xavi and Iniesta after it was 3-nil. I'm sure they would've subbed out their whole starting XI (except Messi of course) if that was allowed, but it isn't. So what more could they have done to be nice to Bayer??

It os not impossible for either. Schalke is out of form, but still favourite. We (96) are in a good position, a draw should see us through, and besides one cup game we lost in extra time we are unbeaten at home this season.

I think its equally possible both clubs go out.

    I'd say Schalke's chances are 50/50, 96's at least 60/40.

    My prediction still stands.

Bayern vs. Real Madrid CL final.

I'd consider buying an APOEL shirt in that case.

At this point it seems like the only way there won't be a Barca vs. Madrid final is if they get matched up against each other before that.

Though I'm with everyone else. APOEL is the team to root for right now. :D

Napoli out. Milan almost out. Inter out.

I guess some people spoke too soon about Italian football.

As a Milan fan, I just hope Boateng is fit to play in the Champions League and we dont get Real,Barca and possibly Bayern although I think we have a chance against the Germans.

I was very close to putting money on Chelsea going only +2. I didn't think it would end +3.

    Glad I kept my money.

Milan always looked good against Bayern. Personally I hope Bayern avoids Barca, Real and Milan. If they had to face one of them I would prefer Real.
Real - Bayern is classic match and Bayern never lost a home match against Real (only one draw, won all other home matches).

Bayern's coach already achieved with Real what Mourinho has yet to do with the team. ;)

But Mourinho has won 2 Champions Leagues already.

With the players Mourinho has right now, only Barca can stop him #fact

Bayern fans should just forget about beating Real and Barca #impossible

    :p
