Can't we have a "Player watch" thread in the national team forum again (thread titles in that forum atm are meaningless almost without exception, by the way), and leave this thread here for the "also rans"?

Not too fond of that, at least statistics (who went where) should go in here...

In general I am not too happy with the moderation of the German forums as of late, I don't have the feeling that the mods do much, there is not much order when it comes to a lot of things and the mods don't really react to (constructive) criticism.

    Guys,

Ernst scored the only goal of his team winning game in Europea League game .
    1-0

He and Hilbert played a good game in over all.

Besiktas started very well to the European League games.

Congrats Ernst and Besiktas. that was an importand goal in their victory.

    Regards.

We Hannover 96 fans will always love Fabian Ernst. Born in Hannover.
Good to see him do well.

I was in the stadium when 96 won that important game against TeBe Berlin to gain promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.

My heart was beating so fast when young 18-year-old Fabian Ernst stepped up to take Hannover's 1st penalty (skip to 2:19 but make sure to then watch the whole thing after that. Still my favourite 96 game of all time and Milovanovic's goal is just legendary. Also playing in that game for 96: Otto Addo, Gerald Asamoah, Bastian Reinhard and Dieter Hecking).

The hype about Fabian Ernst back then was immense, pretty comparable to the Kroos hype right now, German football fans actually expected him to become a future superstar.
Didn't quite happen that way but still a very respectable career.

Also happy that Boateng didn't play in city's desaster in Poland yesterday. Still he'll have to fight for a place in the starting eleven.

My Spanish is not perfect but I guess it means that that Real's president thinks Mesut could become one of the best players in the world.

Mourinho also seems to really like Khedira, unlike Mesut I think Sami was actually a Mourinho signing.
He praised him after the Hercules match, pretty amazing.

It's going to be a hard long season but at the moment I am satisfied with how our guys are doing, they show they belong.

    Pretty long Khedira interview:

Anyone have see the German play who regularly starts for Twente?

According to Marca Mourinho is thinking about starting three mediocentros agaisnt Barca so no Özil, we'll see.

Btw, Germany and Autria are the only European countries that won't show this match on tv.

Huth scored the only goal in Stoke's 1:0 win today in the 4th round of the FA-cup.

    :)
