What players were ahead of him at Liverpool in the 1st team (starting 11 and bench)?

Robbie Threlfall at LB and Alexander Kacaniklic at LM. Chris Mavinga also played as LB but he is a natural CB. I'm guessing Buchtmann didn't want to be played out of position and be rotated as much.

I actually really like the move.
Seriously, how many 18 year olds or own youth in general make it into the huge English clubs outside of Arsenal?
How long is he supposed to wait and play for the reserves?

Look at the criticism Insua is getting right now at Liverpool.

Just the fee seems rediculously low for a talented players like him, the folks at liverpoolway are a bit baffled as well:

I like the move too from an objective German point of view. I just wish he would stay at the club I support instead and make a name for himself there. He was played out of position a bunch of times at Liverpool and didn't play as much as he would have liked but he was still considered one of the bigger prospects. Can't believe they didn't fight to keep him. What's worse is that they let him go for 100k only! Absolutely ridiculous.

Benitez has done a great job at reinventing the youth system, bring in loads of talent. He is rather slow to bring them through though. Right now they've got two very very talented players waiting in the wings and between them they've only appeared for the first team twice.

Ballack actually won a title and didn't finish runner-up.

Congrats. Really happy for him and hopefully it's a good omen for
    the WC!

    Hi, guys! :)

My personal favourite for this World Cup is Germany.

But there is one more place where Germany is my champion.
There is a prime time TV show on bTV, called "Welcome to Bulgaria".
People from different nationalities participate, presenting their country.

Please, support the German guy - Gu:nter at: http://welcome.slavishow.com/.
He is the fourth from left to right on the upper row. Rate him with a 6.
You can rate the others 2 to enhance your vote.
Truly funny and cool guy, btw.

    Thanks!

And fingers crossed for the World Cup.

Foreign leagues are really starting to become interested in this generation of German talent. Boateng is at City, Khedira now at Madrid, Oezil is being linked with a host of clubs in Europe. Wonder how many of them will end up playing abroad.

I don't think he's mentally experienced enough to actually make it there. If he does, great, but I am afraid he may end up on the bench there. Another year in Bremen would have done him well, and then a move to a team where the pressure is not as big as in Madrid (basically every other team in the world, I'd say Barca for example).

Bad news for Andreas Hinkel. He has a crucial rupture and will in the worst case be out for 9 months. :(
