I think I have watched two Chelsea games since Ballack has been there.

Remember when he made Stevie G look like a punk in the CL Quarter finals with Leverkusen?

I'm thinking of his 2nd, extremely crucial, goal of the match here.

Please, that Liverpool team was going nowhere. Leverkusen was hot that year and were only stopped by the brilliance of two individuals.

I'm talking about 1 specific play in particular.

Ballack is dribbiling 10 meters outside of Liverpools box, shapes to shoot with his right and just as Stevie the wonder boy comes diving in with one of his typical British schoolyard challenges, Ballack fakes the shot and cuts the ball to his left. All the while the G man is sliding by helplessly as he watchs Ballack unleash a left footed thunderbolt into the upper 90.

He was 22 back then, no big deal if he misses a tackle. Team wasn't centered around him then as it has been since 2003. Ballack was on fire that year, no one stopped him.

Sure, cause I'm not gonna go look for it, lol.

Its out there, its usually mixed in to those youtube highlight compiliations of Ballack goals.

The exact match is CL Quarter finals 01/02 season Bayer 04 vs Liverpool FC. It was the second leg, which Bayer luckily played at home. Result was 4:2 for Leverkusen.

Once again Ballack is injured and can't play, once again Chelsea lost.

Yes, very talented and technically skilled left winger, can also play LB. One of the best players of the tournament when Germany won the U-17 Euros last year. He came from your youth team by the way.

I had high hopes for him to be honest and I have no ********ing idea why Liverpool let him go.......:(

I know, but did he not get any playing time with Liverpool? I know he played a game of two.

He did play quite a few games for the reserves, a lot of them at LB too, which isn't his preferred position. From what I heard, he wanted to play more and didn't feel as if he could progress to the first team at Liverpool. It's a shame because I think he could have made it, if Benitez were to ever give him a chance of course.
