We wonWorld Cup without Ozil in the midfield. Sometimes he is
useless, especially against big teams who play 4-3-3 , and always we plays with ,player less in the middle cuz Ozil iz not pure CM, but he is not class of Griezmann to keep him playing as SS or ultra version of AM.Our best performances were when we played with three pure midfielders - Basti - Khedira - Kroos or if we do it today Weigl (Khedira) Kroos - Gundogan - World Class players everywhere.

Probably more so as wishful thinking by Ralf Rangnick to sign him for RB Leipzig, but here's what he said about the Kimmich situation:

"If Ancelotti still has 2 years at Bayern, I do not know if it might be useful to do something different. I like the idea. But whether it is realistic depends on whether Joshua could imagine such a thing and whether Bayern would participate."

Kimmich: "I am not happy about it, it is not satisfactory and not my claim. The coach knows that I can play on the six and right back - and also in the central defense. He has many options to use me."

Other than Kimmich do we have any good option at RB? I don't really rate Henrichs too highly

Well apart from Henrichs, there is also Klostermann when he recovers from injury. Passlack as well, but it's too bad Dortmund have left him behind in the depth charts now that Durm is back again.

and not long ago, the board and Ancelotti have put Kimmich as Lahm's replacement.

Lahm is done this season which should open a spot.

don't you need 3 goalies in International tournament. So one of your other players need to be taken out.
nor am I convinced that Castro should be on the team.

while I think Can shouldn't make the team, would not be surprised if Low takes him.

another assist by Kroos to Ramos, which won the game for Real 2-1!
it's Kroos's 10th assist this season in the league.

Hope Gundogan is fit and injury-free for next World Cup
Who are the best replacement for Khedira?, Weigl is to similar with Kroos
Oezil at least is still needed at bench for alternative

imagine a WC with both Reus and Gundogan, 2 players that always get injured. I'm actually disappointed that both of those 2 have only played 1 tournament for us and that was back in Euro 12, which was 5 years ago. I think we could have won Euro 16 if they were on the team.

    as for Khedira replacement.
you have Gundogan, Dahoud, Goretzka etc.

Dahoud, LeGo, Kramer, Amiri, Barkok and Kimmich are the NT caliber 8s who've already broken into senior football...and this is not counting Henrichs, who is a natural 8, or Haizertz, who I think would be best as a Hamsik like pseudo 8/10.

Now many of those kids are less physical 8s who are more like Gundogan than Khedira, but LeGo & Kramer have that physicality & endless motor that Khedira brings to the equation; and Kimmich has the stamina + defensive intelligence to replace Khedira as well.

I don't list Can since he's stagnated these past few seasons, and I haven't included kids like Geiger, Meier or Akkaynak who have yet to break into senior football.

I'm hoping to see Weigl sitting behind Dahoud and 1 of Goretzka, Kramer, or Amiri at the confed cup; with Kroos shuffling in ahead of Weigl depending on who shines brightest in the NT set up...with Dahoud being my bet. Stick that trio in front of Tah - Sule - Kimmich at the confed cup; with Boateng & Hummels shuffling back in for the WC; and we'd never give away possession cheaply again.

so Stindl is injured? Seems to put doubt on a call up for the March Internationals.

He was probably being rested with the "injury" just being the official reason to keep him out of the gameday squad...like they did with Raffael as well...doubtful this even keeps him out of the EL match this week, much less the confed cup.

Although depending on how much longer BMG lasts in the EL & Pokal, Stindl could be exhausted by season's end and need that time off to rest.

To make the confed cup team? Doubtful, this is just his second season as an impact starter and first in BuLi1. With no european experience, it's doubtful Jogi would pick someone who's not from his favorite clubs.

I do think he'd be a great addition for a club like Gladbach for next season; he could learn from Raffael & Stindl, while getting some european experience and upgrading on their crappier depth attackers like Hahn / Drmic / Hoffmann. Then maybe after the WC he could earn a look...assuming he doesn't have a monster season next to Raffael to try and force his way onto the WC roster.

Is Geis good enough for this ? I'm not following him, just no from stats, he has 0 assist and 0 goal but somehow rated highly from whoscored.com. My impression about him is his freekick ability.
