Surpise 5 - Durm/Ginter/Weigl/Schmelzer/Bender - Dortmund Surprise if he cant get Gundogan he takes all others
Surpise 6 - Leverkusen - Brandt and Tha
    Surpise 7 - Gladbach - Dahoud/HAHN
    Surpise -8 Schalke - SANE/Howedes

I understand all that, and have been one of Can's bigger critics on this forum, but he is actually integrated into the setup, unlike a few of our other potential options. Weigl, Kimmich, and Dahoud are all IMO better options if fully integrated into the system. But NT play is all about chemistry and rapport with the players around you IMO. And Can actually has that experience and the opportunity to build that rapport, while the other options lack that experience. As for Schweinsteiger, I believe a fully fit/in form prime Schweinsteiger is a mirage at this point. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't even entertain the thought of Can as a starter. But the fact is we haven't seen that Schweinsteiger since 2014. Even if he was fit and in-form, Bastian has still declined dramatically, and I do worry that if we attempt to start him, we forfeit the opportunity to begin the transition into a post-Bastian NT for very minimal, if any, improvement.

Draxler is back..he is in the squad this weekend

Julian #Draxler is in the VfL squad for the clash with @VfB. Dieter #Hecking is leaving possible involvement from the outset open.

You should keep the Hummels hatred/frustration in Dortmund forum..first goal was due to Bender's laughable defending and Sokratis not catching up Modeste and 2nd goal entire defense line was high up on the pitch and the great Burki in no mans land...

How about Andre Hahn scoring ion 4 consecutive games?

He could've scored one more, his 25yards volley hit the crossbar.

    A really physical presence

well Low did say that there might be a few surprises on the selection, so Hahn, could be one since he's only played once for Germany. Another surprise I can think of his Julian Brandt.:)

I would just go with Boateng hummels CB duo.
Kroos Khedira midfield with Gotze in the slot.
Reus/bel on the wings and muller up top.

Our lack of fullbacks sucks giant balls..... If only Alaba was German

Forget Hahn,"Kicker" is speculating about Uth as a possible surprise call up:pSounds very strange, but hey, he plays at Hoffenheim.

haven't seem Uth play but scoring 8 goals for Hoffenheim who barely avoided relegation is not bad at all. :p

My boy, Uth. Knew that he could make it after scouting his progress from last season. Important to note that 7 of those goals came from the final 14 games of the season. That's when he had a more stable role and given consistent playing time. He's really thrived under the new system by Nagelsmann.

The job of Low is going to be extremely difficult when it comes to choosing attackers...there are total 8 slots...
Ideally you should drop Gotze and Schurrle based on their underwhelming performance last 2 years...however the 2 boys who won the World Cup final for you can't be dropped for the next tournament...also they have good chemistry in NT set up...so I think following are the 8 attackers Low going to choose
    Gomez
    Muller
    Ozil
    Gotze
    Reus
    Draxler
    Bellarabi
    Schurrle

-however it is also important to have a surprise element in your squad...so what we have seen from Leroy Sane last 12 months including the brilliant goal yesterday it makes sense to include him in the squad as well...but then whom do you drop from the above 8 attackers? Taking a traditional striker like Gomez is critical and Schurrle will not be dropped...so?? Hopefully Low doesn't select Podolski and derails everything

would you take him to Euro or his teammate Kevin Volland?
Always found Volland to be lacking, although the potential is there.

Well I like him too, he is Kölner. And he is a clever player. I just think that what he showed until now shouldn't be enough for a national team callup (he can make it one day, no doubt). But hey, after all he is a striker with a german ID:D

Uth is a limited player from what I've seen. Not good enough for a top class team like Germany.

Tough choice. Volland is a quality player who I like because he offers versatility and also helps create goals for teammates. But I'm still waiting for his finishing to take that next step. Staying at Hoffenheim too long may have stagnated his development, it's time he moves onto a larger club.

Low confirmed awhile ago that Gotze is on the team. Thing about Low is that even if a player doesn't play well in club they might still get chances with the NT. I recall for years people wanting Klose to be dropped because of his average club record even when he was always consistent with the NT. Gotze played false 9 against Italy just recently and scored a goal, he also scored a brace against Poland in qualifiers.

yeah I suspect so too, although that striker position will be a battle between Gotze and Gomez. They do have 2 friendlies and pre-tournament training to truly decide who will start and who will be a sub. Both scored in their last games although Gomez was robbed a goal against England.:p
