Not technically eligible right now, but goes with the topic of this thread. HSV's Bakery Jatta would like to become a German citizen and represent Germany internationally. He left Gambia back in 2015. I believe Ousman Manneh is another Gambian who moved to Germany in 2015. Although his career hasn't progressed in recent years due to injuries. https://m.sportbild.bild.de/fussbal...staatsbuergerschaft-60103206.sportMobile.html
there is also 03-Mamin Sanyang from Hoff U17 that is from Gambia believe he's getting closer to becoming German.
Jatta is a pretty decent prospect. Plays the wing forward positions has good build, athleticism and pace. Standouts too as there's not too much wing depth for youngsters around his age group. I'm kind of neutral on the matter for him but he does show genuine interest in wanting to represent Germany someday. And he's spending the more formidable years of his development within the German football system.
Some older articles. Both Manneh and Jatta are refugees. Nineteen-year-old Bakery Jatta made his third Bundesliga start for Hamburg in one of the club's most important matches of the season. Jatta, a Gambian refugee, didn't have any plans of becoming a professional footballer when he arrived to Germany at the age of 17 from Gambia. "I didn't have any plans. I just had the dream of a better life, of getting a fair chance,” he told local Hamburg outlet MOPO. Jatta is not the only rising star in the Bundesliga who has sought asylum a long way from his homeland. Stuttgart's Chadrac Akolo fled from DR Congo at the age of 14. He, too, didn't have any plans of making it big as a footballer. "When I arrived in Europe, all I wanted was to go to school,” Akolo told DW's Joscha Weber. Yet when he arrived in Switzerland, Akolo joined a local club after his friends "introduced me to football". Refugees have dreams The stories of Jatta and Akolo, as well as that of Bremen's Ousman Manneh, epitomize the sentiment of so many refugees in Germany. More than one million people have arrived in the country after Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to open the country's borders to those fleeing from war zones in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of them are young, and many dream of future success further down the line. And indeed, many of them end up living their dream. As the country faces the challenge of integrating them, those with experience of arriving in Germany as asylum seekers and succeeding against the odds could, and should, become role models for Germany's new arrivals, as well as for the authorities and general public. https://www.dw.com/en/opinion-bakery-jatta-shows-what-belief-in-refugees-can-achieve/a-42735741 It says a lot about Jatta's potential that, despite his tender age, sporting directors up and down the country were clamouring to get him to put pen to paper. In his native Gambia, it is rumoured that the youngster never played for a football club, either professional or amateur. Before moving to Germany, life was never easy for the prospect. Jatta, who grew up without parents, battled both physically and emotionally to start a new life. "I knew that I had to take this difficult and dangerous path of fleeing upon myself if I wanted to have a chance at a future," he explained in an interview that the Red Shorts published upon announcing the conclusion of Jatta's transfer saga. In Kannenberg's academy sport is part of a daily routine and it was here that Jatta's footballing talent quickly became apparent. It was helpful, then, that Kannenberg had a few contacts within the footballing world. That was how Jatta found his own agent, who set the rising star on a path that culminated in him joining HSV. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/noblsp-wait-over-for-hamburger-svs-bakery-jatta.jsp

German-American-Mexican GK 95-Pablo Sisniega (full name Pablo Eduardo Sisniega Fink) joins MLS. LAFC announced an addition to their goalkeeper ranks on Monday, with the signing of Pablo Sisniega from Spanish side Real Sociedad. Sisniega, 23, is a native of Mexico, but also holds US and German citizenship. As a result, he will not occupy an international roster slot. “Pablo is a young and exciting goalkeeper with a bright future ahead of him,” said general manager and EVP of soccer operations John Thorrington in a team statement. “He will bring valuable experience from his time in Spain and add depth and competition to the group.” Sisniega turned pro with Real Sociedad, which also happens to be the former club of LAFC's star forward, Carlos Vela. The goalkeeper had yet to make his debut for La Real's first team, and had been sidelined with significant injuries, including having his spleen removed after a collision during a game, in the past. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/02/18/lafc-announce-signing-young-goalkeeper-pablo-sisniega never knew he was German and looks like injuries are reason why he never played in La Liga and his whole career has been in Spanish 3rd division with the B-team.
