Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Speaking of American ownership, I heard that AS Monaco is interested as well...
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu I just feel these baloney rumors are much Adu about nothing.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Yes, it looks like they are http://lettersfromvagabondia.blogspot.com/ His agent must like the Med area...
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu FWIW, I can't find any mention of Freddy in Nice Matin, the newspaper that made the report, according to the blog...
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu here is a link in French. I think it says Monaco is trying to rebuild their team and Freddy is one of their targets. http://www.grasse.maville.com/-Mona...e-/re/actudet/actu_spo-657088------_actu.html
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Babelfished it ... so Adu is going to Monaco for certain? Of the players mentioned - no one else is a "young American". Where's David Bowie when you need him?
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu I like google's translation better: Especially, the part about hotel parking.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Non-babel/google translation: De Bontin's patience is the order of the day. "We shouldn't rush things. For now, our goal is to sell wisely in order to buy better." The Monegasque president is aiming for 8 departures and 6 new signings (4 purchases and two loans). The only certainty: we'll be taking a young American player. As for next season's goals, JDB says, "Since we will have the 4th highest salary total for our players, we're aiming at one of the top 5 spots."
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Well, at the top of the article it says "But before eventually signing...
...the Monegasque brass will have to trim the fat to get ahold of new purchasing funds." The wording of that paragraph certainly makes it sound like it's an inevitability...
Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, Pheonix and Freddy. It has a certain ring to it, doesn't it? The Monaco rumors make it sound like a done deal-- they seem very certain. Question is whether the team has leaked to the press that they are after Adu or if they've just said "a young American" and, naturally, everyone assumes it's Freddy (since, short of Jozy and Bradley, I doubt any of the soccer press in Europe could name another young American). I would think that Freddy's stock should be on the uptick after his performance against the Euro 08 champions. As long as it's a team that will put him in the Starting XI . . .
just for the record... please, please. please stop using bablefish for translations... and start using google... and even tho Adu would be ok for Monaco... im hoping its Robbie Rogers
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu It also sounds like Freddy will be coming there on loan, rather than a permanent transfer. The others will be brought in as funds become available. South of France ain't the worst place to be.
I think it's this kid. There's more recent videos, too. But I lke the second half of this one.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu That was my guess, too, from reading the article. I'd stress, though, to avoid undue speculation (yeah, as if that were possible on BS!), that the article doesn't say explicitly the circumstances--loan or transfer--under which they'd bring in Freddy.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Pablo Aimar is apparently a subject of interest from a bunch of English clubs. Who is Benfica bringing in to play center-mid?
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu M_chael Bradley FTW Miccoli isn't coming according to his agent.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Aimar to the BPL? He can't even stay fit in La Liga, his little frame will get snapped in half in England. It truly is silly season.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu not really... since Monaco and France are two separate countries...
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu Given that Monaco is a sovereign country, and that it's completely enclosed by the south of France, I'd say you're both right.
Re: Genoa prepare bid for Benfica starlet Adu BTW, given the US gov. tax policies, Monaco holds no special allure for Adu in that regard. Everyone else takes a substantial pay-cut to go there. IIRC, Klinsmann was making $1M/Y there but it was all take-home pay.
